Cast of Characters in “The Siege of Fiddler’s Vale”

(Author’s note: To whet your appetite for my upcoming story, “the siege of Fiddler’s Vale, [which is a sequel to my "The Trio" stories] I thought I would first introduce some of the people whose lives will be affected by it ...)

Kynomi: A Kisume Oracle. She, along with others, are racing to the town to warn them of the oncoming danger - an army of undead, supported by beings from the shadow plane, are headed for Fiddler’s Vale. In human form, she appears as a white-haired girl with a large glowing symbol of an ankh on her forehead. In Kisume form, she has three tails and white fur. Drawn away from the frivolous and mischievous ways of her kinsmen by her connection to the gods of life, she has been honed by them into being an instrument of defence against the assault of the undead. Now, at last, the time has come, whether she’s ready or not ...

Zhen/Zova: A human vigilante. Twelve years ago, a pair of twins were kidnapped by agents of a necromancer. The girl, Zova, died, but her brother Zhen decided to make it appear that he had been the one killed, and took his sister’s place. Now, as Zova, he/she has come to Fiddler’s vale, officially to look for a suitable husband, but at night takes the role of The Laughing Shadow, who hunts down those responsible for not only his/her kidnapping, but many other crimes, and gets swept up in the defence of the town ...

Yigi: a lizardfolk paladin. Yigi’s people were dwellers of mountains and badlands rather than swamps, but one day while she was out preparing for her upcoming mating a horde of undead killed her entire tribe. Lost and alone, she wandered into the wastelands and nearing the end of her endurance came across a small citadel dedicated to a obscure god who wars against the undead. There, she learned that the necromancer who killed her people had done so to gain precious minerals hidden in the mountains of her former home. Desperate, she allows them to help her, train her, and when she felt the call of the god to become of Paladin, she could not refuse. Since then she has fought against the unliving, protecting those who often hate and fear her. Until she was called to escort Kynomi to Fiddler’s Vale ...

Acera and Duskade: Several years ago, Acera, a fetchling Shadowdancer, was rescued by a cleric of the town of Fiddler’s Vale, and while recuperating in the town, came to fall in love with the town, and especially a rather quixotic creature called Duskade, a Wayang Cavalier who had somehow made herself into a member of the Watch despite her tiny size and spent her days riding her dog Ambrosia and protecting the streets of Fiddler’s Vale. Given the mission to find the oracle Kynomi, and then tasked with returning with her and her newly acquired bodyguard Yigi, She races with them towards the town, praying they will be in time give a warning ...

Milah: a catfolk Ranger. Milah had been a trapper and hunter in the wild lands around Fiddler’s Vale until a chance encounter with three adventurers called “the Trio”. When one of their members, Besh, was kidnapped by a sorcerer, she joined with the other two to go to the town and look for help, and ended up helping secure a magic sword for a local deity in exchange for his assistance in rescuing Besh. Since then she has been helping keep the roads to town clear of monsters and wild animals, but now must work with the others against a much larger threat ...

Goruza and Emmy: These two, although unlikely friends, had bonded together working as bodyguards for a gnome named Besh, and eventually the three were famous enough to be known in some parts as “The trio”. They originally came to Fiddler’s Vale to find help in rescuing Besh, but Besh was rescued by another group of adventurers, and has joined that group, leaving Goruza and Emmy looking to forge their own destinies. Goruza is a half-orc Barbarian, mistress of the double-bladed Orc axe, and Emmy is an Aasimar Bard, singer and possessor of angelic light. Both of them now can only try and survive the crisis to come ...

Kotori: a Dwarf Warpriest. Joined with Milah and the other two members of “the Trio” in securing a magic sword for one of the deities of Fiddler’s Vale. Since then has spent most of her time creating weapons and armor as one of the town’s smiths. But now, must leave her anvil and take up the warhammer once more ...

All of these people, and all other residents of the town, are about to have their lives changed forever during ...

Some more possibilities:

Jarg Stonefist: Quarter-ogre fighter/brawler who has been living in the town for a while now, and has at times helped out Madame Benrime, the owner of the inn, as well as Vansel, the town's main blacksmith and Argen, Vansel's younger brother, the town's carpenter/wood smith.

I haven't given any detail on Vansel or Argen, just named them in the process of writing of Jarg's adventures in and around the town.

Jarg's adventures so far are told here: https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/book-page/72695/pathfinder-jarg

Using Jarg

Works for me, just give me a shout and we can hash it out until we like what we see. *grins*

I'm going to be writing a new Jarg story either tonight or tomorrow, which will give more detail on Vansel and Argen, and possibly one or two others from the town. I'm sure Vansel, Argen and others would be involved in the fight for the town itself.

Edited to add: I just posted the new story, which tells of the fight with a pack of giant cats, briefly referred to in "Pathfinder: Jarg: Settling Down." To be honest, the new story is more about the actual fight with the cats, but it does tell us that Vansel fights with a rather large warhammer, his brother Argen isn't a fighter at all, and it brings into play several new characters that are involved in the adventure.

I've added a fighter to the mix, a man I've named Kelman Larco, and described as "the nearest thing to a war captain in the area". Kelman is a lifetime fighter, having done so for over a dozen years at the time the story takes place, and fights with a great axe and shield.

I've also added a few more minor characters, Jomar the ranger, Bellon the wagoneer/guard, Pelkarn the apprentice fighter.

Feel free to use any of them in the tale of the Siege.

Given the state of my memory

I will have forgotten most of this by the time you publish, I have always enjoyed your stories so I will be there for it.
