Tears in a Bottle

One night, as I lay weeping in my bed, I fell asleep, and began to dream. In my dream, I was lifted up and passed through the gates beyond this life. Once there, I was attended by beings so vast and powerful I felt such shame just being in their presence I could hardly stand it.

But then He came, and I felt much worse.

It wasnt any particular sin that gave me pause, but everything about me was just so small and petty I expected Him to look at me with disgust.

But he didnt.

Instead, he came toward me carrying a bottle. The bottle was gold, and covered with priceless gems and I couldnt imagine what could be so precious that it would be kept in such a container.

He came close, and put the bottle against my wet cheeks, drawing the tears inside it, and once every one of my tears was inside, He put a stopper on the bottle, and put it on a table.

I found my voice, and asked, “Why are you saving my tears? Why treat them like something so valuable?”

“When all your tears are gathered, they will form part of a healing balm that will help many.”

“My tears? But I’m ...so small.”

“Because I delight in using small things to make large results.”

“What’s going to happen now?”

“You must return to the waking world, until the time comes for you to come here to stay.”

“Lord, what about ... my transition? Am I... wrong?”

“Will you trust me?”

“Lord, I want to. But I get worried I’m doing the wrong thing.”

“Trust me. This is happening for a purpose. Indeed, for My Purposes. Now .... Wake!”

I woke, and found my cheeks were dry. Sustained by the dream, I made it through another day.

As I will continue to, until I see Him again.

May Your Light Forever Shine

There's been so many time ...

... I've prayed, asking if I'm really doing the right thing. I've never gotten a direct answer, even though I've asked for one. I still ask sometimes, even though I've got a feeling things don't work like that. I have gotten ... feelings, though. While they aren't saying yes, they're alson not saying no. It's a little frustrating, trying to navigate life using signals like that, but I plan to do my best.

doing your best

sometimes, its all you can do
