Chapter 29

Oh…

Oh… Well…

“No…I mean…honestly I’ve never thought of it as an option.”

“But you said that you would if you could?”

“I know…but I’m not…”

There’s this big knot of hurt starting and twisting up inside of me and I feel the tears slide down my cheeks and it’ just making things…worse? I’m in the kitchen, in a cute dress and totally all girl made over and everything and was comfortable too. But here I am crying and about to say that I don’t want to be a girl, but if I……..but if I’m like this then what the hell am I?

The Indian Maiden - A TWILIGHT ZONE story
By Anon Allsop

An ancient, blind Indian woman is asked to provide a bride for a brash, handsome warrior prince. She agrees to his wishes and summons one using her ancestral spirits, even though he seems to view all women as something to be used only for his pleasure.

Here on this sacred land, where drums pound the beat, old women and young girls sing their song, and where warriors dance around the fires. For this ancient land is located directly in the heart of...THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

There were a number of people gawking from the edge of Uncle Kevin's property. This would definitely be a different kind of vacation, since I was going to be wearing the wig the whole time.

Philip Coates is seventeen and convinced that he is not only trapped in a boarding school for boys, but also trapped in the wrong body. He spends most of his time lost in a world of his imagination. In this world he is the girl he always wanted to be. The girl who screams at him to set her free in every minute of every waking hour, and most of the sleeping ones as well.

Trapped in a social square hole, he becomes simply what everyone - parents, friends, teachers - want and expect him to be. He knows that he wants to be a round peg, but will, in reality, never make it.

Well, he wakes up one morning convinced that his dream might just be coming true.. or is it?

The signs are there, but then again, are there other explanations for what he is going through?

After a rough few days, the girl is set free.

The future is now gloriously uncertain and fresh, as she sets out on a journey, turning her back on her school, her friends and her old home.....

CHAPTER 33
This was a new experience, for I was dressed formally, at Maman’s insistance and under Margot’s eye, in a cream shirt and dark grey skirt to my knees, flesh-coloured stockings and plain black shoes with a heel of perhaps five centimetres. I had asked her about the stockings. It was warm, almost stifling in the noon heat, and I would have gone bare-legged.

“No. That is not what a polite woman does. Not on a first meeting, not in formal attire. And remember: you must tell them of the hospital time to come. And…no, that would be a bad idea”

"Mr. Foreman, have you reached a verdict?" The jury foreman rose. He
was an older man in a plaid work shirt and jeans. He looked nervously
about the court room, his eyes never resting on Jenny or her parents
sitting nervously behind the District Attorney's desk.

Jenny Benton was a slender seventeen year old, her blonde hair done in a
pony tail that hung down well below her shoulders. She wore a pale blue
blouse with matching skirt and belt, light blue sneakers with matching
socks, rather than hose and heels. The outfit was intended to make her

Chapter 22

*Shane…

I dozed a little curled up and comfy in the chair beside Kyle’s bed. I guess that’s a good thing about being this tiny little Asian girl and that’s being able to curl up like this. I have no idea why I’m here and helping Kyle but I honestly can’t help myself.

I never thought that I’d be feeling attracted to him either. To a guy…

Part of me was actually relieved in everything that’s gone on in my life when I found myself really attracted to girls and to have the hots for Sunny.

But having the hots for Kyle is something new.

CHAPTER 32
“The wedding, Sophie, your mother and…father?”

It was said so deliberately, such a pause between the words, that to misunderstand her meaning was impossible. Once more, shame took me. All of my life was fraud, lies. Slowly, though, I began to realise that her voice was so soft, so different to the hard face that had met Maman and me on out first visit.

This story was started a week or so before Amberlynn Kain submitted her Barsoomian adventure. Unfortunately, the basic plot is similar. So here is another take on a Martian Princess -- Ed.
