One small step, but a step in the right direction anyway.

The weeks from Thanksgiving through the end of the year gave me problems for years.

It is at this time we tend to spotlight our lives and examine how we truly relate to familiy and friends. It is one of the reasons many suffer Holiday Depression; we simply cannot live up to the Hollywood and Madison Avenue's stereotypes. Oft times, "It's a Wonderful Life" we ain't.

I've never made this before, but I think it's what I'll have for Thanksgiving this year.

Is there anyone around that can speak Scottish Gaelic, (or maybe they're Lowland Scottish, idk.)? I've been trying to figure out how to pronounce "Brùnaidh" and "Peallaidh" all night.

So last week I posted a contentious blog in which I mentioned that my cat was prettier than your cat. Rather than start something new this week, I thought I'd give an update (since it's raining for the second weekend in row (that's better than having these gulf storms get bigger and hit the oil slick to the east though.))

I mentioned in last weekend's blog that my cat might have to get all his teeth removed, but that isn't going to happen!! Yay!

I think I'll start one anyway.

Did I see the dress as a threat to my legacy, an insult to generations of men who fought wars and presided over propane grills? No, I honestly don't believe that a 4-year-old's Halloween costume has the power to cement his sexual identity for life. I was not threatened by fears of a same-sex, vegan wedding ceremony or a rejection of power tools and the Super Bowl. A far more immediate evil loomed in my magic mirror: children who mock other children.

3-5 lbs brisket (since it takes 4 to 7 days to brine it, I'm assuming you bought a pre-brined (corned) one. That probably means it has sodium nitrate. That makes it prettier (more red), but a bit bitter, but still alright (imho))

For those who have been following the November story challenge, I would like to remind everyone of the story "That's Enough", by Jan S., written in 2007.

I think this story fits the story challenge criteria beautifully. It's not a long story, and well worth reading.
