Jingle Bells

I needed a bit of cheer, December has been a bit 2nd rate so far, and remembered that I should have had the cheap Christmas earrings out this week. (digs the box out) Well, they had the desired effect. Wife, Mum, and work are getting used to my little eccentricities now, for which I am grateful and appreciate that I am lucky in that respect. Anyway, jingle jingle! Frequent head shakes to hear them :-)

Riley will return soon

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to make sure to let you know that I have been able to write again. My two jobs kept me busy the last few months and I have been struggling with anxiety and mental health in general as well. Mostly due to Covid but other things as well.

I will soon post the next part to "The life of Riley". I'm sorry for the long wait. I hope I didn't disappoint anyone too much.

Stealing One's Life Hours

Each of us has only so many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years in this life. There is no buying or bartering for more. When others steal our labors they steal part of our life. There is no way to replace the time in our life stolen from us. Most figure it's a monetary thing. lost finances but it's much more. As I was skimming the net this never came up in Google but it did in Bing. If one is looking to find how many sites reference back to one's accomplishments it wouldn't hurt to use several different search engines.

Good King Wenceslas looked out...

on the feast of Stephen. there were all sorts of exotic goodies, Stephen really had pulled out all the stops, blackbird pie, crab apples but he must've of misread the recipe for pigs in blankets - the swineherd was fighting a losing battle trying to keep his charges wrapped!

Fiction not that far off

Many of the stories on BCTS follow the same theme of school bullies and brutality. Those stories are more non fiction than fiction. I don't think I'm reveling any confidential secrets when I repeat what one of the ladies at the VA TG meeting told the rest of us when she was going to school. Every school day, every school year was literally hell for her. She was constantly getting beat up.

Singer reconciles with Trans father after 10 years

British singer/songwriter Frank Turner never got on with his father, who was apparently quite abusive towards Frank as he grew up. Then his father took the name Miranda and transitioned. An event Frank could not forgive and they didn't talk for ten years. Eventually Frank got to know Miranda better, they reconciled, and Frank has written a song about the experience. Take a listen here : "Miranda".

It's taking a little longer than I planned...

Things are moving slowly on my entry in the Christmas Story Contest. But it's not my fault! My editor is taking her sweet time going over the text as I write this blog. I'd be really upset but she's told me the story is just purr-fect. She'll say anything to get more Temptations cat treats.

Whatley Story

First I may be confusing several plots

I'm 95% sure the story that I am looking for is a Standalone story, although it ties in with some of the feuds other cliques have with the Kimba's, and I can only remember the ending, and other than the main characters a specific character.

This character is troubled, depressed to the point of being suicidal, sees and hears ghosts\spirits, I think he may have been an avatar of one of the lower gods of the Greek pantheon (making him a part of the New Olympians)

New Olympians likenesses are used in a SIM against the Kimba's

Trixie on Patreon

After months of reaerch and i have to admit, prevarication, today i've made a good start on the new Trixibell Heartswoon 'adventure'! The working title is a bit of a mouthful, A Leipzig Ring des Nibelungen which may be changed by the time i publish! It's set, as you might guess, against a background of a Gothic adventure to Leipzig. Remembrance Sunday

As usual in the UK, the authorities, to avoid upsetting business, once more have us 'celebrating' a National day not on the day itself but on the following weekend, today then, the National mourning for those lost and injured in military conflict kicked off at 11.00am this morning. I always try to observe the 2 minute silence, its not always possible but this year a pause in the day's DIY efforts was enoiugh to take part and to see those in power doing their symbolic wreath laying at the Cenotaph in central London.

Bristol bound

Well it's late evening here as I travel through the south Midlands back towards Bevs gaff for the second time in under a week!. This time however it's with the knwledge that the 'emergency' responsible for all the moving and travelling has finally been put to bed, the storage unit cleared and rubbish removed.

Life can, as far as it goes, return to normal for Madeline Anafrid which means that on Sunday I will be posting as normal and normal patterns will resume until late December.

Well that's it for now, time to catch 40 winks before I get back to Brunelville!

Two from BB i think?

1:- Young Man, between high-school and College age?, goes on walkabout (for want of a better word).
can't remember if the young man is White American or Chinese\Japanese American, as he has studied under an eastern master most of his life so this could be the eastern connection.
He is a martial artist, can't remember if he'd had mystical background, but I think that his master suggested his walkabout.
Visits "Bikini Beach"

Can't remember if it was a single multipart incomplete story or a complete multipart story with an incomplete second story.

Looking for story

I hope someone can help me out. I am looking for a story I read quite some time ago. The main character is a teenage boy from somewhere in the eastern US who while visiting relatives in the midwest (maybe Ohio) somehow ends up becoming a weather girl on the local TV station. While taping a remote she ends up reporting on a major accident and the video ends up getting network distribution.

Pray I'm not making anyone disgusted. If one thinks I'm a bitch, I'm okay with that. Yes I made the VA twice this week, Tuesday and Thursday. Wore the same rust colored shirtwaist dress both times with an all weather tan overcoat as the weather was in the forties. The gentlemen at the information center were a whole lot of fun Tuesday as I lightly flirted with them while asking directions to different medical teams. They were both laughing and passing back the sass each time I passed by. Tuesday was donate blood to the VA Vampires and dermatology.

Emergency Dash!

There won't be a proper post today or perhaps even Sunday for which I apologise. For why? Well you will recall the news about the lock up where most of my worldly goods are stored? Just to recap, we have been given a week to quit so it's a case of finding an alternative and moving everything by next Monday or lose it.

Before I go further, thank you to everyone who has sent me support, whether words or more tangible, it really is appreciated.

Looking for another story

So I'm looking for a story I read on here 4 years ago or so. It starts off with a middle aged man going through a shopping District. Suddenly a large monster rampage through the shopping District and out into the street while everyone runs away he follows to watch. Then a teenage girl attacks the monster and kills it but is incapacitated and bleeding. The man runs to the girl thinking to help but she shouts for him to stop but he ignores it. So he tries to help getting her blood on him just as the army arrived in hazmat suits.

Susan Brown's "ORPHAN"

Having just reread Susan Brown's "ORPHAN", I was reminded of another story, in which tennis is a part.

If memory serves, the MC begins a new school, I think all goes well until after the Christmas break, when the weather begins to get warmer, the sports curriculum changes and one of the sports that is played in spring is Tennis.

Looking for a sad story

I am 99.9% certain that this story was a single post (SOLO), and that it is an older story

and this story is different as the MC is a diary

Mother finds her child's diary, after child's death, and reads last few entrys

mother adds last entry to the diary, while the diary is asking 'What are you doing?'

I do remember that there is an image in this story, it is of a yellow Post-It Note™®, although I can't remember what was written on it

Androgynous Claude Cahun's 127th Birthday; (Google doodle)

Claude Cahun was featured in a recent Google doodle:
https://www.google.com/doodles/claude-cahuns-127th-birthday

"French author and surrealist photographer Claude Cahun—best-known for their purposefully unsettling yet playful self-portrait photography that challenged the gender and sexuality norms of the early 20th century..."
...
"Cahun’s work has influenced gender bending celebrities, the modern LGBTQ+ community, and conversations on identity and expression to this day."

I'm having a terrible week

I'm having a terrible week.

My step mother died on Tuesday after several months of failing health. My step father died suddenly the next day. I will be missing one funeral. I am flying to the U.S. for the other funeral. Just preparing for an airplane trip would be enough to make me highly stressed. (It's not the flying, it's all of the preparations.) On top of this, the natural gas pipe going into my home needs to be fixed quickly as the furnace is normally needed by late October and I will be gone for a week.

I won't be on a computer much until I am home on the 27th.
