There was a beginning

and so there is an end!

Todays 'dash' was to unload the van to avoid incurring even more charges, I was up with the birds at first light then with Aunty Bev's help it was non stop for @ 3 hours to empty everything into the temporary haven of the house. Then, after a cuppa, the bigger job of sorting and allocating new berths to everything began, a process that clocked up over 6km walking and took most of 6 hours but by 17.00, whilst there is more finessing to be done, everything has a home.

It seems a bit strange to have my belongings at hand again, after a little over 2 years of essentially suitcase living. Over the next few weeks i will be trying to condense stuff and there's a bunch of stuff that i'll be disposing of - not that it'll make a huge impact on the cubic metres needed for everything, my library and assorted collections will make sure of that. Sorting it into the new storage area was a bit of an eyeopener tho', how much camping gear? how much bike stuff? how many dolls? OTOH, a peek into some boxes revealled what appears to be some proper old tot, yep, I think i can reduce by several square metres!

I'm glad that the Emergency is pretty much over, well all bar the cleaning up, I ache like f#$k, its been a while since i've done this amount of manual labour. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get out for a ride which will either kill or cure - steady will be the motto of the day and of course I'll post you some new Gaby but it could be late on,

But for now, from Brizzle
it's adios mon amigos
