okay, i wont inflict my singing on you!

Sorry for the lateness of my post - its been a busy day. Where to start? hmm, i guess the weather is as good as any. Well the weather has continued to be rather cool although mostly dry and even a bit of sunshine. Yesterday was blighted with gale force winds - gusts up to 60mph, friends and family up in GOC report (and i've seen pics) 6" and more of snow falling in the storm's wake but down here, nada. The winds did effectively cancel yesterdays ride, no point in tempting fate, I don't bounce very well these days as it is.

I did get a ride in on Thursday, quite a decent one, heading north east across the Cotswolds with a stop for sandwich's in Cirencester before returning slightly more directly for a 1000m/130+km total for the day. It was a fine day but i never really got warm, the average temperature was @ 3c.

However, todays ride trumped that, it never got above 0c all morning and only reached the dizzying heights of 2c this afternoon, even wearing extra layers i never got better than just comfortable all day! It was a shorter less hilly ride too, only 660m in 103km but it was enough.

Yesterday's winds, besides delaying my weekend ride, highlighted an inward draft issue at the house, so, after Aunty Bev found the materials, today was time to make good the 'repair'. Well obviously not at the same time as my ride up towards Gloucester, no, we braved the elements when i got back, completing the job as darkness enveloped us. I won't claim 100% success but its 99% better than it was!

I wasn't idle of course yesterday, I did get a bit more Trixie written but the big job was writing all my Chrimbo cards and wrapping all the gifts - i'm not completely done but not far off and its a great disincentive to buy even more for Grandson #1! And i'm back with camera now so i also put a few more items up on Ebay one of which sold within a couple of hours! Every little helps and as everything i'm selling has essentially been written off cost wise so anything i make is straight into the living pot. I'll be putting more up over the next few days, the curious can look at mad*gurl.

Today is an Ontario day, chapter 32, Trans Atlantic to be precise. The team arrive in Canada but not before Gaby wanders off into dreamworld for a bit!

Well that's it for November, i'll be back on the 1st of December all things being equal.

Deck Them

"Deck the halls with hunks of holly. Fill the cups and don't say when." -- Tom Lehrer

Back in the '50s, Tom Lehrer referred to the Spirit of Christmas as the commercial spirit. If I enter the Christmas Spirit (?) contest, is this version acceptable?
