Sherry had dragged me down to the Workshop. Seems the guy she was so interested in and that she'd told me would be a good addition to our study group was probably down there and had forgotten he was supposed to meet us to study.

Yeah. I was out of school for a few days. Had to go back to Ohio for the trial.

Back before I got into Whateley, and I was still living with the mess back home, I got arrested after someone called the cops when I used the women's restroom at a restaurant.

Another shining example of tolerance and sensibility, that.

Life here at Whateley isn't too bad.

Well, I'm still having to "explain" to folks here in Poe that my sex hasn't actually changed. Regardless of that stupid law back home.

Morgan is not progressing, so I figured I'd repost something I wrote for the Crystal Hall fan-fics.

Hi. I'm Jessie Craighead.

I can recall exactly when my life came apart. That bitch, Lenore Schippers, was ticked off that I'd beaten her onto the girl's basketball team. Especially when the coach told her that even if she had been better at the game, she was worried about her being able to maintain her grades

OK, I can understand being upset about that. But she had to drag her father into it. Mr. Schippers was head of the local MCO office and Lenore gave him this sob story about how I had to be a mutant to have beaten her out and have a 3.8 GPA on top of it.

I thought I was embarrassed when I was told I had to be tested for all this stuff. I was wrong. Real embarrassment was when they dragged me out of gym class saying I was a boy!!

Fractal, Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Fractal lay on the ground watching the sky. It was very blue with large, fluffy white clouds. While it was hot, there was a light breeze keeping it from becoming too hot. In other words, it was a perfect late summer day. In fact, it was the last day before she was to travel to Whateley Academy. Which was why she was here.

As they left Spaulding said, “You’re going to need more clothes than just what you’re wearing and us shopping for teen girl clothes together would be funny but not particularly effective. Fortunately we have people who do this sort of thing.”

“The government employs personal shoppers?” she asked surprised.

He was wearing a black suit identical to yesterday’s minus the damage from the fight with the renegade metahuman. “Hello ladies.”

“I’m glad to see you,” Asuna said. “Just let me get my sneakers on and hug my mom goodbye and I’ll be ready.”

The Storyteller (A Whateley Academy Fanfic)

*This is a fanfic set loosely in the Whateley Academy series. That series is great. I'll edit this to add the real disclaimer that's supposed to be here when my internet is faster. This is going to move slowly and there is cursing. You have been warned.*

Chapter 1: The more you ask, the more I say
I woke up to darkness. It was Saturday. Through the night I'd felt as though there was something going wrong but I couldn't place it, quite. My head felt funny, like it had expanded. The soft glow of my computer's monitor could still be seen over my immobile feet from my vantage point at the head of the bed. It was a Saturday. I was sleeping in: it was around ten o'clock, though I normally woke up much later, closer to 12 or 1. I wish I remembered more ... it's really a blur what happened next. I have a tendency to block out my emotions. There was a knock at the door. I was crying and I couldn't understand why. The knock was soft and quailing. Through my sobs I couldn't hear the other person crying, but I knew they were, somehow. They entered the door. It was my aunt Lily, who lived four states away and was the most caring and least rational person I knew in my family, simultaneously. She believed in Wicca, though my own blasphemous atheist thoughts were tolerated nicely. Dabbing at her eyes she seemed almost like she couldn't talk, and choked before letting go with a single sentence:
"Rick and Gloria are dead."

As they were creeping along the side of the train they saw a shadowed figure outside speaking to someone inside the engine room. "I think that's one of them," Bobby whispered.

Just as the sun was rising the train was forced to make an emergency stop. All the crew and passengers were throw from their beds or off their feet. In the boys room Rick picked himself off the floor unhurt, "Are you okay Bobby?"

Welcome to Teslaville!

Teslaville, California
April/1/2002

A faceless man looms out of the darkness. He moves with a fluid grace that Harm finds hard to watch. Without a glance Harm's way the man walks away down a street that Harm has not noticed before. As Harm looks around he sees others like the man. A fearsome loneliness wells up within him and he cries out to those around him but none of them react. Harm stands amidst the throng and is unheard, unseen, unknown.

"Why won't any of you speak?" he shouts but they continue on their way as if he did not exist at all. The weight of their disregard drags him down and he collapses, great chains at his wrists, drowning in a sea of anonymity.

This needs a serious rewrite. I'm leaving it up until I can fix it but if you haven't started reading it don't, wait until I've revamped it. I also need to find a new title.
Thank you
Freya

Well it's been rewritten but I'm still not happy except maybe with the title. Read at your own risk. :-P
