After all the buildup to the race, I was expecting something much more drawn out and with a more tense feeling, but I'm glad you did it the way you did -- just enough details and action to give us a feeling of the race, but you didn't let it overpower the chapter and the character interactions despite it being the main focus. Well, that's how I felt, anyhow :P
I'm looking forward to finding out how Gaby and the rest of the Bond crew, Maddy's family included, eventually take care of the criminal chasing her once and for all. Until then, I'll just enjoy watching Gaby's story -- both your version and Maddy Bell's -- unfold.
