We've had an interesting week in the UK news. On Thursday, the left-wing Guardian commentator Suzanne Moore demonstrated she didn't understand transsexuals. On Sunday, the even more left-wing Guardian commentator Julie Burchill demonstrated (yet again) she is a bigoted transphobe

And then, late on Sunday evening the right-wing Telegraph commentator Tim Stanley was seen to be the most understanding of the three (while happily sniping at the entire 'left').

Being liberal does not make it impossible

... to be an intolerant bigot, evidently. "The big takeaway from the Moore/Burchill controversy is just how illiberal liberals can be when they get into a fight."
How intolerant the "tolerant" can be. That's why when "the left" starts to blame "the right" (and vice versa) for all the bad in the world, it makes me wary that they're trying to deflect some of the blame that's due them. Just a warning not to totally demonize OR give unreserved sainthood to EITHER end of political spectrum.

And now for something completely different, I'm going back to reading.

Now I am wondering

if this will be good or bad for the T.G. in the U.K,?
