Confused?

Well you won't be shortly, i'll explain soon but first, the week that was!

Hereabouts the worst of the weather, ie the rain, has largely abated, its still a bit breezy but its at a level where riding a bike is okay. Nett result is that I've managed both scheduled rides at this end of the week.

On Thursday I set off without great enthusiasm for a Cotswold loop but just 20km in I nearly turned back, I just didn't feel like changing out the slow puncture I seem to have. However, after putting some air in I decided to keep going, a stop once an hour isn't so bad after all and so I ended up exploring the south Cotswold roads. I stopped for a cuppa to cheer myself up, 100km ridden, 4 air stops, 1 pot of tea and a toasted tea cake.

Friday I headed to Halfords for some inner tubes - I didn't want a repeat on Saturday!

I was feeling a bit perkier Saturday morning and so set out to get lunch at Weston (SM). It was a bit of a slog at times as I rode across to the coast, some weather blew through but it was cosy in my usual haunt, the Victorian Café on the esplanade. Food consumed I set off again, secure in the knowledge that the wind should offer some assistance on the return leg.

Even so it wasn't the easiest ride down to Brent Knoll but the benefits started as I moved inland towards Cheddar and my ascent of the Gorge, whilst not easy, was comfortable. Over the top of the Mendip and down to the Chew Valley which I then pretty much followed all the way to the Avon. I was feeling a bit dry so tea and Lemon Drizzle were consumed on the way in to complete 120km.

Next up - after some deliberation and finding some reasonably priced bus tickets, I decided that a visit to friends and family in GOC was needed so time spent sorting that out means I depart tomorrow and return on Friday. Hopefully I can do an update mid week but no promises.

So to that opening conundrum. I promised you something special today but it hasn't turned out to be what I thought it would be! A Gaby Compendium brings together five Gabyverse tales from 4 different authors in an almost 600 page Gabfest! Currently this volume is the only place you can read these tales together - I hope you'll enjoy reading these very different tales, with all the usual elements of bikes and friends and a bit of cross-dressing fun!

And so to todays free post, Recovery. More angst and soul searching than an episode of Buffy and all for free!

That just about rounds things up, So until next time,
Adios
