I write my novels for one reason only - because I enjoy doing so. I have no literary ambitions beyond recording, shaping and polishing the stories that have been going round in my head for years past. The fact that others sometimes seem to enjoy reading them is most gratifying and an added bonus to me but is not my main motive in writing them.

My full-length novels are all set in the contemporary United Kingdom or else start out there. They contain no great danger or excitement; there are no vampires, zombies, extra-terrestrials or characters with super powers. Likewise there are no gangsters, kidnaps, murders, bank heists, or car chases. They are rather about individuals coming to terms with who they really are. My stories tend to be categorised as 'sweet and sentimental' and have a positive and optimistic outlook, although with some tribulations along the way. Unfortunately, they are not autobiographical in any way, but rather my way of dealing with things 'that might have been', if only I'd been born forty years later. I hope you enjoy reading them.

The two short-stories at the end of the list are both pieces of experimental fiction, written for BC competitions. One is a ghost story set in 1930s/40s Norwich, and the other a dystopian view of UK life in the 2090s. I'll leave it to others to decide whether or not they were successful.

“No matter what happens … no matter whether or not you grant my wish … I just want to say how much I appreciate your friendship. You’ve been kind and patient and compassionate, helpful and honest and … most of all … been there when I’ve needed you. Thank you.”

Thanks to Kristina L.S., Scott Ramsey and another friend for reviewing drafts, finding mistakes and making helpful suggestions - and, oh yeah, Erin for making all this possible.
Of course all remaining mistakes are my own.

Welcome to my author page. Below, you will find a complete listing of my stories in alphabetical order. Most are just plain fun, but I would like to put a little order to some of the stories. It's also well worth saying that all my stories are complete. The first chapter of a serial is not published until all the chapters are ready for publication. Generally, the chapters are then published at daily intervals.
