Wow... so men can finally be

Wow... so men can finally be raped too. It's rather ridiculous when a crime is gender specific.

I wonder wehen they'll remove the exhibitionism paragraph in germany that only forbids men to run around nude in public.

Whatever, a great day for all rape victims in america.

Beyogi

time

about time that they started with changing that law . But still a long way to go.

A subtler change, too

Before it wasn't rape unless it was both forcible and without consent. Now, it is acknowledging that rape can happen without force, in such cases as unconsciousness, paralysis or simple threats or coercion. This brings the FBI definition of rape into line with other federal, most state and many international definitions.

Child Molestation

I've always felt there was something wrong with that phrase. A person who does this is guilty of rape! They did not just bother a child, or somehow did something of lesser value. Anytime someone is forced to engage in sex against their will (and with consent if they are too young) it is rape.

Rape is an ugly violent crime, it should be treated that way. It should also be prosecuted in prison as such, but then I've often felt the concept of punishment in prison is counterproductive. That is for another post.

Sadly, yes it is...

However, I don't know if it's a very common occurance anymore. I don't know if it happens else where, but I'd imagine that it does. here in the states, we have a joke about going to prison (i have no idea how old it is) that say that whoever is going to jail is going to be "bubba's new girlfriend." This is also where the phrase "Don't drop the soap" came from.

Still broken

They still require the victim to be penetrated, so a female on male assault still won't always be called a rape by them.
