I think i'm losing it!

Or more of 'it', some would claim i lost most of 'it' years ago!

So, sorry for missing the Wednesday update but there was good reason. Aunty Bev and myself travelled down to Dorsetshire to terrorise Angharad for the afternoon and we didn't get backto Brizz until after eight. I fully intended to post something but i ended up turning in early and only remembered that i hadn't done the deed as i lay trying to get to sleep. So sorry for that.

Anyhoo, i've been out and about every day this week starting Monday. I got myself organised and set off for a bus trip down to Weston super Mare. It was a bright day but cool and windy, by the time i'd walked along the beach and back to the town i was ready for some lunch and rather than get blown away i opted for a sit in meal of pie & chips. Then it was back on the bus with a diversion for some groceries on the way home.

Tuesday was grey and breezy but it was dry so i took a loop out into Wiltshire to get some lunch. It was all going nicely when, almost at the cafe, i hot caught in a road side rut which resulted in me rolling around the grass verge sans velocipede! No real damage, it was my ego that took the brunt, the only ongoing reminder being a bruised rib - just don't make me laugh! Anyway, i had my lunch and circled back to complete 100km for the day.

You've had Wednesday's adventure already so i'll skip straight to today. After the early rain it looked fair for the day if a bit breezy and with my achy rib, i decided on a shorter ride, my last as a fifty something. The outward ride to Congresbury was quite pleasant, i treated myself to a fishfinger sandwich with my chips then set off for the return. Almost immediately the wind made its presence known, any ideas of stretching the ride went by the wayside and i finished the ride with just 70km in the legs and a soft rear tyre! nike riding is fun - honest!

As you may have picked up, i celebrate a significant birthday on Saturday, sixty if you haven't worked it out, i'll be out for a ride of course but the main celebration will be later in the year as noth my daughter and grandson also have big birthdays this year. I may of course, well almost definately will, have some alcoholic beverage so Sunday's Gaby post could be later in the day - you have been warned!

For now thats me done, see you Wednesday,
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid

Birthday

Just remember, "old age is no place for sissies". Ain't it hell getting old. Happy birthday to you and Gaby.

Happy Birthday, youngster

US President Jimmy Carter, who has not long left, has written far more eloquently than I ever could, about the advantages of age. They are yours to discover. So long as bike km > years, you are doing well! Congratulations on the upcoming milestone.

Bike km > Years?

I have some catching up to do! I'm 68 & it's been a while since I've ridden that far. Gotta work on that this spring. Catherd has thrown the gauntlet.

As we say around here

You will be thirty nine with twenty one years experience. Can’t wait to get out and stretch my legs for a ride. Been a horrid winter for riding. Really cold and lack of good snow clearing makes areas too slippery for me.

I have a raliegh to test and adjust(cables possibly rims after a ride because I had to clean all spokes and nuts).

Having a hand pump for emergencies that fits in a belt pouch is nice. Can pump up soft tires. Enough to get home for repair.

Excuses

Excuses for not posting a chapter are perfect excuses to write an excellent blog post that is interesting to read. Because you like details and I know now why.
At my place, it's Saturday already so it's not too early to say - Happy Birthday!

thanks

Happy Birthday Maddy!

It's -10C with 15 cm of snow on the ground here, so I'm just pedalling away to nowhere on the trainer in the garage. When it gets up close to freezing, I'll head out on the gravel roads with the fat bike and put in some real miles, but i'm just too wimpy to ride outside when it's this cold.

Still enjoying the Drew/Gabby series.
