well thats about as exciting as it gets!

Other than the usual household chores, a chunk of Monday was spent assembling the complete Gaby Book 27 supplemented today with a search and decision on a cover image which once again comes courtesy of Mizutamari. All i need to do now is finish the writing side, add a few twirly bits et hey presto, the full volume will be ready. I have made a start on the extra writing, i've got everything formatted and i've done the grammar and punctuation, not saying its perfect but its at least readable!

That was Monday, so yesterday i set out for a ride, whilst it was essentially dry it was close to single figures for much of the morning, reaching a staggering 14c mid afternoon! Certainly looks like the winter longs will be making an appearance soon, if only for the sake of my knees! Whilst it was a fairly local bumble the ride took in a bit of climbing, well 860m, and added another 113km to the year's pot.

Today has already been quite busy and its not lunch time yet! Laundry is out on the line, i've started to wash the last of this years potato crop and i've posted the next Gaby chapter here on BC. You can read Moving Swiftly Along complete with the original illustrations now.

I've also set a full backup of my files in progress, currently its still looking at half a day to complete the task but its energy well spent, ensuring that i have up to date copies of everything secured. I'm thinking of mirroring the drive to some of the empty 4TB of drive space sat on my machine too, its only @ 400gb total so not much of a dint in the storage capabilities!

Thats it for today though, i'll be back on the eve of Hallowe'en,
Tschussie,
Madeline Annafrid

Given your incredible body of work - not only just backups, but keep a 2nd fairly recent disk 'off-site' - storage locker, trusted friend or relative (this is where you learn disk encryption), or if you trust Google storage (I think you'll to pay after the first free ?=Gbs), or if you trust "The Cloud". Having everything gone from a residence fire - shudder.

i used

to do weekly backups but to be honest i've got lazy of late, i really need to get back into the habit!

Why not?

make it a bit of what you do when you put a chapter to bed? Upload to Amazon... Take a backup.
or words to that effect.
