Yes indeedy

the penultimate week before the Christian bean feast is now upon us and the madness has stepped up a notch, men (and women) with no arms are throwing money they don't have around for gifts no one wants and food no one needs. I might enjoy the atmosphere but being somewhat low on funds really does put it all into perspective as I decide whether to buy bread as others peruse food stuffs they'd not consider buying the rest of the year. I'm not complaining, i'll eat fairly well over the festive period and less is good right?

The weather has continued to be changeable since Mittwoch, I ended up having a wet walk on Thursday instead of riding. It was dry on Friday so I headed up onto the Cotswolds where I followed the Roman Fosse Way for a bit before taking in a loop through Malmesbury before heading back past Chippenham. I somehow selected the most arduous and technical route to bypass Bath, single track lanes, a puncture, gradients in double % figures both up and down as they twisted around this corner of Gloucestershire. Quite a day and quite a night as I suffered some painful cramps through the night.

Saturday was another mixed forecast so it was late morning before I departed for a shorter ride than usual, a mere 55km. the early ride was marred by 2 punctures within half a mile but then I headed out to Severn Beach and down to Avonmouth. I crossed the river with the M5 then followed the river bank, on a wet and sometimes muddy track, back to Brizzle. It was a pleasant enough ride but somehow it left me a bit out of sorts.

With a damp start to today I settled for a walk up onto the old Badminton estate across the valley, quite wet under foot but a pleasant enough excursion.

The weather looks okay-ish for the first half of this week so I should be able to get at least one half decent ride in before I head north.

I'm working on several publishing projects atm, at least two of which will be going live before I depart on Thursday. Gaby book 4 3rd edit will debut and there will be a Kindle debut on another exciting Gaby tale.

And so to today's post. Doubt is the next instalment of the Yorkshire interlude, I hope you enjoy reading it.

bye for now
