The Difference Between Prejudice And Discrimination

It's telling that none of the female students made a complaint. That boy's grandfather should have asked himself why not?

I'd tell him to his face: 'Be as prejudiced as you like against trans people, sunshine, doesn't bother me what goes on in your head. But you do NOT have the right to inflict that prejudice on others because that is discrimination.'

I wouldn't stop there either: 'Nicole Maines is a girl who happens to have been born with male genitals. Imagine if it was the other way round. You're a guy. You KNOW you're a guy. You have a guy's urges and a guy's mentality. But you've got tits and a vagina. What would you prefer I do? Treat you like a regular bloke or complain about which bloody bathroom you use?'

Then I'd mention what I've often seen in France, where the women sometimes have to walk past the urinals to reach the cubicles. Doesn't seem to bother either sex.

But I've a feeling he'd only come back with 'but what about the children?'

Ban nothing. Question everything.

Been following this on Yahoo

She is a very pretty young woman. I commented on one of the Yahoo stories and so far I have recieved more thumbs down than up. Why can't people realize that she is a person with a medically correctable birth defect?

Because

they don't understand or wish to. It's far easier to maintain a bigoted prejudice than consider other people's feelings. I mean, the grandfather of a boy complained - why? I could understand his complaint if it was because Nicole used the boy's toilet. He's probably very stereotyped in his views and poorly educated, one of the US taliban.

Finally found my Yahoo reply

The complaint that caused this young lady to stop using the girl's restrooms and having to use the Staff restroom was filed by the Grandfather of a BOY who was attending that school. What gave this Grandfather the right to file such a complaint since he did not have any real complaint to issue. The young lady was NOT using the boy's restrooms but the girl's and it does not appear that any girl's complained.

And yes, I keep referring to this student as a young lady. That is because SHE is a young lady with a medically correctable birth defect.

As for my background, I am a Christian, Republican and Desert Shield/Storm combat veteran.

I have 13 thumbs up and 29 down although there is one reply farther down that states that he would love to give me 50 thumbs up.

Extrapolating

This "man" is complaining about this girl using the girl's restroom. So, it seems logical to believe he wants this young woman to use the boy's restrooms. This very pretty young woman in the same restrooms as his grandson. There is more than a wiff of pervert here. If I were her parents I'd be seeking a restraining order barring both the grandfather and grandson from being closer than a hundred feet to her. Even grandfathers can be sexual preditors and teach grandsons to be one also.

Nicole Maines

is a pretty young woman attending high school. By trying to force her to use certain facilities, the school is breaking the law. It would be the same thing if they had different facilities for blacks and whites, or any other differentation between groups.
