Last Sunday I went to the CANDLES (Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors) Museum in Terre Haute, Indiana. I learned three things. Two are important to us.
1. Although Jews were victims of Nazis, not all victims were Jews. Only nearly 6 million of the 11 million were Jews. Among the other 5 million targeted by the Nazi regime were GLBT individuals. If we were there then most of us who visit this site would be victims.

The first Talmuld Torah is "Time," considering it is "Daylight Savings Day" in the U S. It is being discussed in the Forum (see top of "Home Page")

Based on some conversations during the last few weeks there has been a suggestion by Rami that we have an Torah study and discussions. If this is done it would be in the Forums section of this site. I would be the moderator, including what topics would be discussed and for how long.

Things to note:
1. You don't have to be Jewish to get involved.
2. No experience is necessary.
3. You may suggest a topic.

"The Family Circus debuted
A woman can propose to a man. Irish legend says St. Bridget & St. Patrick made a bargain for that.
And of course, today is Sadie Hawkins Day, an invention of Al Capp

I will keep you posted. If no note by Monday, you may send her something.

A message from Holly Hart:
Well, my body has betrayed me once again
It's not as serious as the cancer which seems to be as good as before.
But in the cancer surgery, they had to do a bit of rebuilding on my liver, and apparently it did not heal well.
I've developed an abscess and had to be d\admitted to the hospital to have a drain put in and to get several antibiotics that can only be give intravenously.
I cannot access BCTS on the hospital computers, but I do have email access.

I bought and received some Girl Scout Cookies today, two boxes of Thin Mints. On Friday I expect to buy a box of Smores. The girl didn't have any Smores available.

If you could be any character in a movie, poem, play, song, story, ect who would you be?
My choice would be at least one of the female leads in "You Got Mail," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves," Sandra Bullock's characters in "Practical Magic" and "Two Weeks Notice," Minerva Chesterton, Duchess of Wolverstone in Mastered by Love and the Black Cobra Quartet series by Stephanie Laurence.

Long Island LGBTQA Community Members,
Let’s keep the movement towards equality in New York State moving forward. I agree that GENDA should be the next unifying social priority in New York State. Please join us with Joanna Solmonsohn, the Long Island Program Organizer at the Empire State Pride Agenda. Joanna leads the Pride Agenda’s community campaign for LGBT equality and justice on Long Island.

So, your follow up chapter is behind schedule? See title of this blog. Get it right, not fast.
BTW the quote is from Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. The book version gives him a soliloquy that is even better.
The keyword quote is from Alice in Wonderland by Louis Carrol.

Note: I almost really blew it: I almost used "you're".

I wrote a story this week which is in the "let it stew" stage. As I should, I used spell check and discovered some alleged mistakes in my writing. One of the sentences I wrote said, "So, I watched him and her together wishing I was her." Spell check said, "...wishing I was she." The disputed word is an object of the sentence fragment, not the subject ("I" is the subject of the fragment). therefore "her" is correct.
Moral: use "Spell Check" but also use your brain. "Spell Check" is only a computer program.

This article involves the "Conservative Movement" of Judaism. Even when this is approved the weddings will not be legal in all jurisdictions and not all Conservative rabbis will do such ceremony.

I was just starting to visit this site when I heard a train whistle from a train on tracks about a half mile from my home and realized there are those who work on Thanksgiving. Some of them should and we should be thankful they are working today. There may be a skeleton crew for some of them. I may have forgotten a group or two:
Police
Firefighters
Nursing Home Employees
Hospital Workers
Military
Pharmacies
Airline Employees
Taxi Drivers
Railroad Employees
Bus Drivers
Car Rental Services
Gas Station Employees
Restaurants

Yesterday Holly Hart had an operation that removed a cancerous tumor in the pancreas. It was successfully removed. There was no evidence of it spreading. The operation went quicker and easier than expected. Probably there will not be any need for radiation nor chemo therapy.

There seems to be some "controversy" and concern regarding "Fade to Black," especially the concern for the author. In reality we who are transgendered are more prone to violence, including that which is self inflicted. If you're even thinking about ending it all please make a pledge that you won't. I thank G-d every time I remember those who have made that pledge to me. The violence against us is bad enough without adding to it.

I have a copy of a nearly completer excellent story received by me in September 2002 called "Dryads Tale" (sic). The main character is John to Jenn. Does anyone know if it is finished or who the author is?

I just received this email:
Just a reminder that this Saturday is the fourth annual South Bay Pride Shabbat. Please include this information in your community news section or forward to interested congregants. Many participants in previous years are not GLBT themselves but straight allies or family members.
Congregation Shir Hadash, Temple Emanu-El, and Congregation Emeth invite you to join us for the 4th Annual South Bay Pride Shabbat. The service will be held on Saturday, June 5th, at 10:30 am at Congregation Shir Hadash, 20 Cherry Blossom Lane, Los Gatos.
