Just so you are all in the picture i thought i'd let you know the current state of play.

Its probably because of the year but not only have i lost my home internet (temporarily i hope)but my lappy is playing up a bit and not only that my desktop screen has died - well i think its the screen but i won't know until i can get a replacement, it could be the base unit. (it is getting to be a bit long in the tooth!)

As a result my writing is a little curtailed at present and i can't do any work on my site as the files and programmes are on the non working desktop system! grrrr!

I'll continue posting on here from this, my mothers machine so there will be stuff to read and my site is of course still up and working. It may be some weeks before funds allow purchase of a new screen though and if its actually the box thats dead, well we might be looking at months. blech!

On a more positive note i'm working on the last chapter of the current Nena book which hopefully will be released on Lulu Easter Sunday!

Let's hope...

...the desktop's HDD hasn't been fried. With a bit of luck, you may be able to salvage at least some components from the old system - and if its replacement is a DIY build, anything still working from the old system can be used to beef up the spec of the new one :)

I'd send parts, or even an old laptop, but shipping across the widening pond is a bit pricey.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

So, you are presently on the Dog Watches at the moment...

Anyone who has read Patrick O'Brian's Master and Commander series or has served in their nation's Navy or Coast Guard will probably get that :)
