Never got there

Unfortunately, despite my every endeavour, I had to pull out of the trip I was expecting to go on yesterday.

I woke up in a complete sweat, with various aching muscles and joints, and I thought it was advisable not to subject a room full of 50 people to whatever I've got :)

So my partner went off by herself, and turned what was supposed to be a 2, 3 or 4 day break near Cardiff for the pair of us into a day trip. The friend was suitably surprised, suitably horrified, didn't want any of the presents, loved them all, etc. Exactly the same as when we set up a similar party for her 60th birthday two years ago (she's very trusting). My partner got back in the evening saying she'd enjoyed herself, and that it had been raining in Wales for the last two months. Well, duh. It's Wales, isn't it?

I didn't have a temperature at all, or a cough, and my chest seems ok, so I guess it isn't the dreaded swine flu. It's probably "just some virus" I picked up last week while out shopping. It's the school holidays, innit, and there's all these young disease vectors running about all over the place.

I'm feeling better today than I was yesterday, but I'm going to keep a low profile for a couple of days.

As my mother always says, "if it isn't one thing, it's always something else".

It wasn't raining

when I stayed with my daughter in Wales, a month ago. In fact, I got sunburn watching the bike racing.

Remember, if it wasn't for rain in Wales, much of England would have no drinking water.

Despite that, I hope your virus soon clears.

Get well ASAP!

That means you can write some more great stories.

Sort of.

The big problem with feeling this crap (yesterday wasn't quite as good as I expected) is that I'm afraid to do very much that requires intellect because I know it will be full of mistkaes :)

I'd love to catch up on the many tales there are festering around in my head but I know it'll do no good. Currently, I can't sit in front of the computer for very long either because I'm saturating the chair with sweat - not pleasant. I'm just dipping in a couple of times a day.

All I can do is try and develop things in my head, and maybe watch some TV. Not the daytime rubbish - I have a Myth system with some 300 hours of good things that need watching but don't because I'm busy writing.

Thank you to all for your concern and good wishes.
