so today, I got to go over to my aunt's place and spend time with her puppy.

To say I needed a four footed furry therapist today is putting it mildly, so I'm glad he was taking appointments!

I keep coming back to Robert Heinlien's "Time Enough For Love"

... where the Main Character says (per my memory) that given Time enough, we could come to Love the vast majority of Humanity that is decent and lovable ...

Dogs are way ahead of Heinlein's main character.

Dogs pretty much always have time enough for love. Not a lot of getting told "I'm busy" or "See my secretary. Maybe next week...", or "Rates start at $100/hour." (Treats, now ...)

I could not cope without my feline therapists

I am lucky enough to have two very sweet feline therapists ( oh yes, and I should say a partner who believes in me ) who keep me going through the storms of life. Without my three lifeboats, I would be lost. When the kittens choose to sit on my knee, the whole world can just go take five.
