Okay, i know its tomorrow but i thought i'd get in early (and i don't post Thursdays)

So May has arrived and we are finally seeing some more Springlike weather. Well Monday was okay ish if a little cool which meant my intention to do a longer walk was downgraded to a quick shopping expedition.

Yesterday was better although i still set out for my ride in hat and jacket! It broke into double figures a couple of hours in and by the time i got back it was quite pleasant. The ride itself was quite enjoyable, one of my 100km+ loops east into Wiltshire, the issue was actually my food stops. For some reason the cafe i was aiming for was closed when i reached it, no prob, there's a back up burger bar a couple of miles further on - except that that had disappeared completely since i last passed @ 3 weeks ago. So i ended up pushing on, almost back to base, before stopping for tea and a jacket tater, its never ideal to go four hours without fuel so i was more than ready for the calories.

Today has been almost pleasant, two trips to the shops have restocked the larder somewhat but also taken a good chunk out of the day. The threat of bad hayfever at breakfast time has quite literally been blown away on the fresh breeze, reducing it to a more manageable level, for which i'm grateful.

Of course, its the Coronation on Saturday, i don't think its ambivalence so much as people aren't quite sure of the protocols given that most of us have bever experienced one unlike Jubilees where the Queen gave us quite a bit of practice! So there hasn't been the same excitement we've come to expect on these occasions. I shall certainly be watching which means my Saturday ride will be on Sunday (again) so my Sunday post could be a bit late.

I think that's it for today, see you at the weekend,
Ciao,
Madeline Anafrid
