.....come back another day - preferably less strong!

Yeah, there has been an increasing onslaught of the invisible foe since the weekend, its blowing a hoolie right now bringing with it a bit of damp - not nice.

Monday i had an early start, I got the call last week to arrange my Covid booster shot, five minutes on the NHS website and i was booked in. So, after doing the laundry, i set off to walk to the vaccination centre, its only @ a mile and a half and it was a quite pleasant morning for a stroll. There was already a good queue when i arrived 30 minutes before my appointment, i was just about checked in on time, it took another fifteen minutes before i bared my arm for the needle. So that's my fourth jab done and dusted.

I was already part way into the city so i decided to do a small chore on my way back, it was actually the first time since about Easter that i've walked through the shopping zone and looked in any shops. Not that i bought anything other than my raison d'etre but a bit of retail therapy goes a long way. Once back in the 'burbs i tried to get some writing done, this particular bit is proving hard to write and i only managed to add maybe 500 words to the current chapter before calling it a day.

I did make fresh soup for tea, cabbage bulked up with homegrown carrots, parsnip and onion, delish, i may make it again as everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Tuesday morning my arm, the injected limb, was quite uncomfortable, i was in two minds whether to go out for a ride as it hurt so much. I got breakfast and decided to set off, u could always turn back if it was too uncomfortable. However i soon forgot about the arm and ploughed on to my lunch destination, Weston Super Mare, lunch was a breezy al fresco affair of chips, ham and egg on the esplanade, the sun even made a brief appearance. having eaten i took a look at the controvertial 'See Monster' installation currently adorning the beach, in these cash strapped times i have to agree that tarting up an old gas rig with a bit of green and glitter is hardly good use of public funds.

Anyhow, i continued back across to the Avon, now with the wind being a little more helpful, pausing briefly for tea & cake before completing the 110km ride.

The arm still aches a bit this morning if truth be told but its fading, no doubt a pill would banish even that but things need to be serious before i resort to pain meds! I'll take a leg stretch after some lunch, then i'll have another crack at getting the new chapter finished. It being Wednesday i have posted the next 'missing' Gaby chapter, The Anime Days part 24, Return to Normal. Hope you enjoy it, more next week.

Well thats it for now, i'll be back again at the weekend but for now,
adios,
Madeline Annafrid
