Daddy's Girl

Printer-friendly version

Walking over, I sat on the bench and looked over.
"Happy New Year Daddy. Been a while since the last time we talked so I thought I would swing by and catch you up."

Gathering my thoughts, I continued. "So, brother is still married, she hasn't killed him yet so it must be love. Mom is doing well also, still doing the genealogy and cooking a lot. Loves the new Ninja air fryer oven more than the one you got her. She is still using the regular pressure cooker though, doesn't trust the Instant Pot," I say, giving a little chuckle.
I should probably cut this short, need to get back to my spousal unit. Thank you for accepting me and love you always."
I lift my fingers to my lips, kiss them, and then touch them to the headstone as a few tears roll down my cheeks and I slowly walk away.

Nice vignette

Wish it was that easy irl.

It is more like walk up to headstone all ready, see headstone up close and fall down and cry.

Rinse repeat every single year that goes by.

Hugs happy new year.
