.... then this will be of interest to very few of you.

However, I have been maintaining a complete list of characters and names for rivers etc etc etc for reference as I write the Julina tales. I have had a number of queries from some people over the weeks about this and that, so I have published my list, with Payter's permission, to make things easier for readers.

Payter's superb efforts have been the skeleton of this - I have merely resorted into alphanumeric order and added a few skips and so on and so forth.

I have today made it so people can leap about by clicking on an item in the Table of Contents and thereafter leaping straight to that entry. This contains all references from both Penny's S E E and my J o B.

I implore you to let me know of missing or erroneous entries as this reference material is only useful if it is accurate.

I have added it to the very end of my JoB tales by giving it the number 999.

I would like to take this opportunity of wishing you all, using the numbering system prevalent where I live, a very Happy New Year - or, at the very least, a New Year less stressful than the current one has been.

All the very best

Julia

Thank you, Julia

For producing a very scholarly work. Even I am finding it to be of use.

When I originally started writing Somewhere Else Entirely, back in the Jurassic, I did indeed keep a careful record of everything and everyone that was mentioned. However, by the time I reached about chapter 20 the muse was using the lash and the cross-checking was taking more time than the writing so it suffered.

I will be the first to admit that because of this there are a number of inconsistencies in the story so far. The current plan is to finish the story and then go back through and fix everything.

However, there are a number of side tales which have surfaced while I concentrate on the main thread[1]. Having other authors play in the same sandbox also means that I have to pay attention to ensuring consistency with the major architecture of the universe (multiverse?) I have cooked up.

Why does this sound like I am making excuses? :)

Nevertheless, the Gazetteer forms an invaluable resource which I'm sure many readers of our tales will find of interest.

[1] There will be at least two. One will detail Milsy's exploits while away in the palace and another will give background for the Vast Multidimensional Beings (VMBs). I'm contemplating a third set in the future, which would therefore be a modern SF tale rather than a semi-historical setting like SEE.

The tales, the index and the maps for Palarand

I have completed the circle!

From this new Index Julia has provided, one can now link to the maps and to the latest episodes of the two stories series.

So I just edited the maps area to have a link to the Index.

So we can leap about like a Fikt from and to here, there and everywhere.

I join in with Julia's New Year wishes.

Cheers

Di.
