Well, I managed to hurt my shoulder pulling skids at work last night. I'm starting to worry I'm not up to this job physically, and if I lose it, then what?

Hurt Shoulder...

Is there a less physical position you can switch/transfer to?

Were you properly trained.

Dear Dorothy,

Don't let this get you down. You will overcome this as you are so well at doing.

That being said, It may seem that operating a pallet skid does not take much brains and only brawn. That is wrong. There is a proper way to operate a skid. A proper way to pull or push one, depending on circumstances. So my question is, "Were you properly trained" on how to use the particular skid you were operating taking into consideration the load on the pallet. Part of such training includes making sure that the skid operates properly.

While my experience working with pallets and skids ended about 37 years ago, during the summers from my Junior Year of High School and for the next six or seven summers operating skids was part of my summer jobs. The summer between H.S. graduation and start of college, I worked in a wearhouse. My forman (Trainer) gave me hell for how I operated the skid. He then spent time teaching me how to do it.

So perhaps check with the forman or better yet someone who knows what they are doing. I am not a youtuber, but I am sure somewhere there is a training manual you could see.

Bst of luck

Girdle

Were you wearing a proper girdle? Not being funny. It's also called a belt. It protects the back.
