I've written a short story that has several scenes involving U.S. Army personnel, set during the war in Afghanistan, mostly at Bagram. I've done as much research as I can, but I'm reluctant to post it without a pre-read by someone who was in that conflict. If anyone would be willing to help, please shoot me a private message.

At first I thought you were looking for some Brit soldiers who must be like 150 years old or so, which would be a very hard ask ...

One Year Deployment?
I thought the limit was one year? You were not Military?

I wrote a story about the modern war in Afghanistan that was moderately well received. I did all the research that I could but admittedly most of the pseudo data came from the media, the library, and some other obscure sources. My own Military Service was well before the US involvement in the Afghan war of 2001 so perhaps that colored it.
Oops! Daylight Savings to Standard Time change.
The event I mentioned elsewhere remains at 10:30 Am, local (Chicago, IL, USA) time.
We have 'fallen back' to Standard Time, so we are now UTC -06:00
