I have been trying to get into the Whateley Academy site, or the Crystal Hall site, to read a few of the stories I haven’t read in years.

Unfortunately, I am unable to get in. I can’t remember my old account, so I tried to create a new one - but it keeps telling me my account has either been locked or has not yet been verified.

When I try to recover my user name or password, I get a message that I will get an e-mail with a code - but I never get the e-mail.

Any suggestions from anyone?

Register or not

If I land on the homepage it wants me to log in or create an account. When I am on the homepage (without logging in) I can click on any of the tabs to the right and it'll take me to them without logging or creating an account. I don't even go to the homepage to start, I have "recent-releases" bookmarked and go directly there (without logging in) to check for new stories. https://whateley.academy/index.php/recent-releases

I am not sure what registering or logging in adds to the ability to navigate the site and read stories. Maybe for comments?

I assume that what I have done to navigate to the stories would be available to everyone.

Why register

From the home page (2nd blob):

While it is possible to read the stories and comment on them (and even read through much of the forums material) without registering, to prevent spammers/advertisers, we do require site registration to be able to participate actively in the forums.

Having seen the medical nonsense that occasionally gets onto BC, I can see the point of this.
