Well here it is December 24th, Christmas Eve. As usual, we're all in a tizzy (mistyped that one as tissy. I almost left it. If you don't know the meaning, look it up and you'll see why.) Tomorrow we are headed in to town (that is the nearest big city, we live in a small town of about 2K population) to my daughters house for dinner and exchange of gifts. This is their first Christmas in their new house. My oldest will be going with us, my grandson (age 20) will be there as will my granddaughter (age 23) she has invited her first boyfriend. Yes, she didn't date in high school... didn't even show a romantic interest in boys. My wife and I haven't met him so it's quite a big deal for us. (Her mother also didn't date in high school and married her first boyfriend, so you see where my mind is.)

Today, we got side dishes ready. My wife made some ambrosia and a little earlier some Tiger Butter. I've just popped two pumpkin pies in in the oven. So it looks like I'll be slipping into bed very early Christmas Day.

To complicate matters, our usually mild December weather is fixing to give us a real winter blast. My car does rather well in snow and to spite living in Oregon where we see on again, off again light snow I'm reasonably skilled as a snow driver. So I'm not too worried. The real weather is supposed to hit Christmas night. But I'll need to keep an eye on the traffic camera that looks at the highway into our little town. On the 26th, they say we could see as much as 8 inches of the white stuff. So if there's any weather showing on the traffic cam, I'll need to bug out early on the family get together in order to be sure to make it home OK.

I'll take this time to wish you all;

MERRY

CHRISTMAS!

Nothing wrong with a late start in dating

Nothing wrong with waiting to start the "dating game" until after reaching a fully adult date.

I have read (unfortunately no references available) that the neurological development of the human brain finishes around the age of 25 years. So the old Romans did not have it all that wrong when they codified the age of majority to be 25 years.

I had my first girlfriend at 19. But in hindsight that relationship was more infatuation than anything else. And I married at 23 less than six months after being introduced. Again in hindsight I was too naive to see the warning signs she was broadcasting left, right and center. I held on for almost 12 years until I admitted that our relationship was over. And it was another 7 years until the divorce was finalized.

I wish you and your family all the best.
