These critters remind me a bit of those in Morpheus's recent series, To The Core, a bit.

To so rapidly change a being would probably require a bit of intelligence as it is coming across theoretically an unfamiliar species.

Unless of course, we are now talking about a 'dark' version ofthe Physrr Lesch (?), an offshoot who has created these parasites.

This mysterious opposition may very well be another human offshoot.

I actually haven't read to the core... yet. So I can't say. A version of these creatures was originally going to appear in the final part of Battle for Earth which means I conceived of them like 5 or 6 years ago? They got scrapped for whatever reason (I honestly don't recall why), but I'm glad it happened because I feel they work so much better for Legacy.

These creatures, which later get named the Ghyng, are complicated. The parasite itself is incredibly sophisticated, but the beasts they create are mindless killing machines. Really quite a terrifying fate to become infested and lose yourself to such a creature.

As far as the masterminds behind them, they will remain a mystery for now, but suffice it to say, I'm keeping their origins pretty close to the chest.

Have delightfully devious day,
