Well the weather might be a bit damp here in GOC but the first medals of this years cycling world championships have been decided.

The mixed relay team event was taken, as predicted, by the Dutch with Germany grabbing silver ahead of GB. Yep, totally unexpectedly the 6 unknown young Brits came out on top of the rest to claim the bronze medal, taking some formidable scalps along the way. The Bond family won't know who to yell for when its shown on Eurosport later!

There are seven more days of racing to look forward to and i'm gonna be there in person later in the week having decided to join Podracer for a few days camping in the heart of the race zone around Harrogate. So advance warning, I won't be 'home' until the 30th so no update next weekend, normal service will be in place on Wednesday though and of course today.

And we stick with cycling with todays Gaby post, Hymerway takes Team Apollinaris across Germany to Saxony for a bit of a leg stretch.

The first photo's from the Swedish trip seem to have been well received so if you missed them click on the link below before taking a butchers at part two.

I always enjoy Gaby and Mads' travel pics. What is that war-of-the-worlds windmill thing? Excellent nuthatch!
