Is it still April?

It seems so long since I posted I thought I'd missed the month!

Anyhow we are back home now, ridded, drive'd and tired - don't get me wrong, it was a great trip and I'm sorry its over but travelling most days is a bit tiring. I did gain my 9th Spreewald Golden Gerkin, is it really 11 years since my first trip to see Saphira et al in Brandenburg? Anyhow, I completed the event at an average speed of 33.6kph - faster than I've ever been so my winter of training must have paid off! No time for complacency though, the next event is shorter but much hillier and takes place next Sunday in the Yorkshire Dales.

I will sort out Gaby pics on Wednesday.

Today though there is a new chapter from book 16, Week That Was should keep you going until midweek.

In other news, saw my GC on Friday - such a well behaved babe (well for me at least) but it was sooo tempting to buy lots of totally inappropriate stuff in the German toy shops last week!

I will be going full steam on Gaby writing this week - it just didn't happen while I was away, hopefully i'll have book 22 complete this week. it better had, next week they start on my new kitchen and I doubt i'll get a huge amount done for the three weeks they are supposed to be on site what with one thing and another.

Following the Gaby writing it'll be back to Nena, more on the new tale to hopefully complete that before Spring Bank holiday week.

I should be back to a semi normal posting schedule after next weekend.

So its goodbye from me,
and goodbye from her!

They just don't make 'em like that any more...

TW3 (TW TW TW) was "Hello, Good Evening and Welcome" the late great David Frost, and friends.. including Both Ronnies and some of the Python Team.

The Two Ronnies: RC - "Well, Its good night from me" RB - "And its goodnight from Him"
Both - "Goodnight""

No, I think it's October.

It must be autumn because we had summer for 2 whole days last week and now it's wet and windy as usual :) I discarded my thermal vest and donned my usual wear of short-sleeved polo shirts but the thermal vest is back on today.

I should learn. At my age I know not to cast a clout 'til May be out (and not only is she still PM but the hawthorn hedges are bare still :) )

Out around Sherwood Forest earlier - nothing new there as there's a handy cafe and it's less than an hour on the bike from here on a good day. No the difference today was that I was only in half thermals and the weather was good enough to go on the best bike!

While I was in Germany we had temperatures close to 30 on several days - it was shorts and t-shirts for 6 whole days! It was the first time in 9 editions that I started and finished the ride in just shorts and jersey - no arm/leg warmers, ear warmers, foot covers or fingered gloves. Back with a bump when we got back to the UK - it was 'kin freezin' here yesterday and even this morning.

Welcome back

to "sunny" England. Biting northerly temp in single figures here, and winter clobber for riding. Still, it didn't rain so not all bad.
Well done on the pace! Fine-ish conditions forecast so hope to be watching the race somewhere.

"Reach for the sun."
