Is anyone else not able to save logins? Every time I login, I check the "Remember me" box. Then then next time I come to the site, I have to login again.

Everything works well for me. I'm just wondering if it's something I'm doing wrong or is it just one more little detail that will be fixed when its priority number rises to the top.

Software Attack

Two weeks, or a month ago everything worked fine, and then there was an attack or a server crashed or something. Remember BCTS was down for a week or so and then started to come back. At least that is my experience.

I thought that the server farm was in New Jersey, and the Site owners are in California. It seems like the site is slowly being rebuilt. I do not know why there are no persistent log ins.

Log in problem...

Try clearing your browser cache. The problem seems to be a stale page getting stuck in a cache somewhere between you and us, and us having CloudFlare in the middle complicates things.

It happened a few times after

It happened a few times after the site was reestablished. It's working ok now. So maybe it's just browser's problem.

Saved logon

Since the site came back I have had to log on each time I visited, until today. Today, my logon was saved! We are gradually making progress.

Still not completely back...

Today, when I opened Free Stories, my default stating place, I was logged in. After reading some, I clicked on Blogs and was no longer logged in. So, we still have a way to go.

Works most of the time

Persistent logins work most of the time for me. I would estimate it to currently be at better than 97%. Even before the latest cyber attack, I would get logged out about every three to five weeks.

Back then I could re-login from any of my opened tabs and then reload any of the others before closing the one from which I logged in. Usually I would log in from any opened story tab and then reload the tabs where I keep the front page and the inbox. That is the easiest way for me to keep my browser tab somewhat organized.

The last few times I had to log in from the front page tab to make it persist over the prior opened tabs. Now that I am aware of this “quirk”, I can live with it. I would rather have the browsing history show up on the link lists of new stories on the front page and the story index side bars. Since I am currently running up the read counter on stories because I can not remember if I have read all the preceding chapter or not. With my ADHD symptoms currently getting worse, that is becoming a source of frustration for me.

Many thanks to Erin, Piper and their helpers for doing all they can to restoring and keeping this site on-line.

Greetings,
Jessica Nicole

Interesting development

Today, when I came to the site, I appeared to be logged in. In that there was the usual list of links in the right column and clicking on "My Stories" took me to the page that I expected. Returning to the front page, I read a couple of blogs and then decided to refresh the page and when it came back, I was no longer logged in.

Go figure, At least this time my "Stored Password" feature in my browser worked. (I've been having trouble with that for some time on this site as well. But that was due to lack of maintenance on my part.)

Patricia
