the level of talent being displayed by the writers here, especially the entries for the New Year's contest, is absolutely amazing. Every story (except mine) has been a home run in terms of writing.

I guess I should be glad I'm better known for my comments than my stories, because I am not in the same league as some of you people!

So many reasons to compare and contrast ourselves with others. But if I ever get a comment like the one below, I will be blessed as a writer:

From Dee Sylvan:

Dot, I can't tell you how much that story means to me. Thank you for sharing.

Like others here, your story resonates down to my being.

For me, this is what writing is all about.

Happy New Year and may we all bless and so be blessed!

Your story just makes the Queen of Huggles more real. We all know how kind and even spirited you are. Thank you for your contest story.

Always remember, we carry our own fiercest critic with us wherever we go. If you really want to feel inadequate — and I mean, who doesn’t, right? — volunteer to judge a contest crammed full of writing talent!

Hugs, Dot!

Please forgive me,

Please forgive me if I trespass a little. First allow me to offer my most sincere apologies, I've not commented on your wonderful story. I've found myself a bit lost at the moment, but my dear, stand tall, stand proud, your story moved me to tears. It was the most sincere stories I've ever read. It echoed the troubles you've undergone, free of frill and lace. As the tears fell down my wind blistered cheeks, I found myself fumbling for words. I mean what words could I must would express how much your words meant to me. Sweet Dot, stand tall woman, you had the courage to bear your soul to us, to show yourself for who you are. And I thank you for that. I do, thank you for trusting us enough to honest with us. We love you for that. And for all the good cheer you bring.
