The wedding between J. Felix and Katie Leone is definitely going to happen. We are aiming for late summer 2014. This gives people plenty of time to save money for travel expenses and the such. I know Dorothy wants to be a bridesmaid and I've asked Jenn C.. I am dead set on having Erin Halfelvin (because I never know if I should use her real name) to be my Matron of honor. We are getting set to go into premarital counseling. I've got a dressed picked out. But there is a lot to prepare for in a little over a year.

One thing that is a major concern is my weight. And I want to get that under control and I need some help. Here is the thing. I cannot lose weight without exercise. I find it hard to exercise because of my knee. There is a solution. There is an exercise machine. A very specific brand. You may have heard or seen of them, they are called Precor. They make elliptical that have a wide stride (meaning little to no pressure on my knees). I found a place that sells them locally and found a model that I like. The problem is, it cost 1,500 dollars and I really don't have that much on me. I don't know how to do a kickstarter, or I would try setting something there. Would anyone like to help out a little. Or, does anyone know how I can get a home equity loan. I don't have a mortgage. I would think a small loan would be easy with the house. I may be a little uncomfortable doing that, but if it means I don't die, it will be a worthwhile investment. If it weren't for the crooks, I would have the money available on credit cards, but, I don't so :(.

I figured I would at least ask. Thank you. If you know about H.E. loans, you can contact me about that too.

Low impact exercise

You should concider swimming or water jogging in a pool, this is especially good if you are obese because of the low impact and risk of injury.

Alas,

Extravagance's picture

that may still not be enough time for me to save up. Us big cats do not fear water, but it's hardly feasible for me to swim the Atlantic Ocean, no matter how delicious I might look in a speedo...

Weight loss? Just take in fewer calories than you use. There's really no secret to it at all.

So... Maybe someone can carry a webcam and live-stream on the big day? = )

Well

For e I would have to swim the Pacific against the prevailing currents. Off hand, I don't think that will happen. I think I would wind up in the gyre.

Katie, for no impact

exercises, there is the home wave pool. There is an ad on T.V. for one, or you can go to the local pool and stay in the shallow end

As others have mentioned...

Swimming is a very good means of burning calories. It is actually way more efficient than any form of running or walking type exercises.

swimming vs. elliptical

A pool would run me about 10k to have built. The elliptical will run me 1500. I was going for the more cost effective option.

Swimming

You live down in Florida correct? There should be plenty of public pools and/or a nearby "Y".
