We hope you have noticed that things are slowly getting better as we tune the server for better performance but sometimes we blow a sour note like this morning. And the server is still a bit flakey which we are still working on figuring that out.
But we have ordered the new drives, they should be in tomorrow and so it's likely that later this week the site will be down for as much as a whole day while we install the new drives and then move the software over. And then there will be another round of tuning things to get optimum performance.
And then we should be okay for a couple of months, giving us time to work on replacing the aging servers as well as the failing drives. More on that later.

Replacement costs
I know things are getting expensive for you, I appreciate all that you've done to keep things going and I wish I could help out.
What I'm wondering is how much these problems are affecting the other sites you host, such as Crystal Hall. If it is affecting them are they contributing to the maintence and upgrade expenses? I know a hosting co. would just up their rates across the board to cover their expenses, and I just wondering if these other sites are paying their share.

Problems and other sites we host
BC is on its own server, Magda, and most of our recent problems have been with Magda. The other sites we host are mostly run by people who are part of the BC community and contribute through BC, a few send us some money when they can and two or three of the large sites and one or two commercial sites are actually billed.
All the rest of the sites make a fair contribution to the upkeep of the systems, either through their membership in BC, through other donations or just through service to the community. That is what it means to be a community.
A few of the other sites, like Fictioneer, have had to take a backseat because of our recent problems with Magda/BC. Fictioneer and OtherWorlds are still down and we have shut down Girlerize which is the only other site that runs on Magda.

ATT LTE vs CloudFlare
my cell phone (android ATT in an LTE cell) still gets cloudflare from June 28 when on LTE. WiFi on Comcast gets current page on the same phone.
I obviously don't know if it is an ATT issue, a CloudFlare problem, or something in the interaction between the two.
I am sorry for commenting in the old post, but it was the first one that seemed to be on-topic.
