Sorry for the restarts last night...

For those of you that have been heavy on the site last night and this morning, may have notice an inordinately large amount of what I'll call "Small/Micro Outages". I've been working on tweaking the server all night hoping to reduce the load and fix a few small recurring errors. I did sleep for a couple hours, but basically since about midnight last night I've been "fixing, testing, restarting" in what felt like an endless cycle.

I think I've gotten most the issues taken care of and am going to take a break from working on it for a while.

With that in mind, I'd like to apologize to those of you that were trying to use the site while I was working.

We all thank you for your diligence. Once those imps begin to corrupt our servers, troubles only increase. A good housecleaning is needed, every once in a while. Keep up the good work. :-D

Although I was not disrupted in any way, I have a suggestion for the future.

We all and I'm sure all would agree that we appreciate your work.

My suggestion is this: could you post a blog message when you work on the system and then anytime someone IS able to log on they can immediately see why there might have been delays?

If that doesn't work I'm sure the old saw about foregiveness being easier to obtain than permission, is still in effect. (Not that you have ANY reason to require our permission to improve this site.)

Am I rambling here or does any of this make any sense?
