We all have our dark days.

Some have them worse than others.

Unless you outgrew them many of your groups likely still exist and would welcome you back. Or there are friends you made in those groups you can call.

You are not alone even if you think so.

And if work is getting you down, start looking for a new job. Just don't tell them until you have the new one.

Do leave them in a polite, businesslike way, Don't burn your bridges.

But do get another job. Why stay in a toxic environment?

A good employer wants their workers to succeed, to improve, to be productive. If they are truly hung up on minor, unimportant things that suggests either a poor manager or an unhealthy corporate culture. Such a firm may not survive in the long term.
