This is old news but still significant. On Christmas Eve last year someone who touched me passed away. Radio host Lynn Samuels, who started at WBAI in New York, moved up to WABC, was fired from there and moved to Sirius Left, died.
Lynn had something about her, that when you called up to talk to her it felt like you had a real dialogue with her. I considered her a light in the wilderness and a voice I could talk to on a forum with an audience who either shared some of my views or would be willing to listen. Lynn pulled no punches with what she said, honesty was her policy. While she would talk about Pop Culture things she would also speak of the things that honestly effect our lives.
Last but certainly not least her website, www.lynnsamuels.com/ , was, in my opinion, likely the greatest news aggregation site for hard news on the web. She didn't cull news from nonsense sources, these included the likes of AP, Politico, Salon, etc.
You will truly be missed. My role model and someone I would have loved to be mentored by.
I only hope some of you may check out old audio from her after reading this and discover how magical she was. :-(
