Hello, I'm Karen's brother. Karen was admitted to the hospital last night after an apparent drug overdose. She is out of danger, but will remain in the hospital for at least a couple of weeks, so she won't be around for awhile. She could use your thoughts and prayers.

I don't understand why she overdosed but tell that we hope the best for her and looking fwd to more of her writings! Get Well Soon! Richard

Richard

this is always sad to hear about...

Her brother did say it was "apparent", that doesn't mean either intentional, or unintentional, so it could still be either at this point until someone who knows says otherwise.

I doubt if they've tried determining that yet at this point, being more concerned with saving her life, after all.

Please let her know we all care and wish her the best.

I wish her the best recovery and that she has come to terms with whatever may have brought this about. Hopefully it was by error.

Me as well!

Karen has been a valued member here for a long time. Any time she's not here, she's missed.
big hugs

Karen had something similar happen before if memory serves...

she was given the wrong dosage meds in a prescription a few years back but luckily survived.

From my experiences with her here at BC, in various PMs and in e-mails I have found her a strong willed, bright and intelligent person. Karen is an absolute delight to correspond with. She has overcome much in her life and I cannot imagine her doing anything to end it.

This must have been an accident or perhaps a change in her prescriptions that caused an unexpected reaction.

I hope for her swift recovery and thank her brother for passing on the information to us.
