Hope for the broken hearted

I sat in a meeting of people who represent the GBL community who "say" they want to represent the T community more effectively tonight. This is a Democratic action group, and I quickly figured out that their organisation is floundering and they want to fix it. In my experience, organisations that try to save themselves are already dead.

However I did learn a couple things. According to one consultant, people in the age 20-35 are almost invariably fiercely supportive of T folk, while the older ones are not. Does that surprise anyone? They also said that in the <35 set, marriage is generally not important to them at all. It is not important to me, as it would reduce my income and leave me prey to some man that might abuse me. Yes, I know, paranoid much? So, perhaps there is more hope for the younger T folk than us old bittys?

Another thing I learned is that if there is even the slightest hope that you can call yourself intersexed rather than T, you are better off. Transgender seems to be a poison word in some circles.

So, Perhaps thangs are moving along and there is a brighter world out there for those who follow us.

Much peace

Gwendolyn
