I Need Some Advice From Those Who Have Had Orchi

I met my new Internal Medicine doctor today. She did a Physical on me and I told her about some pain I had in my testes. She examined them and ordered an Ultrasound done. If she says they need to go than I certainly will not shed any tears over it. The decision is a no brainer because I am planning on them being gone at some point anyway. I was just wondering if it was true about the penile skin shrinking and affecting Vaginal depth when I have SRS. Did that happen to anyone who is post-op and was it much of a problem? I want to know what if anything I can do to make sure it stays viable enough for the surgery.

Hugs,

Jen

I have heard 2 different Doctors

say you have 2-4 years to get a full srs done before the skin shrinks up from lack of blood flow properly. they can pull skin from elsewhere on your body but will leave scars.

I had a lot of excess skin from a cancer swelling I had at age 11 and didnt have proper functional testicles. I had incomplete sets of both male/female sets so I was non functional anyways. But that was my case.

Ask other doctors to confirm what I have said and have peace of mind. use the phone. its handy and less expensive and faster to find out.

Removing the growths

Hi Jen:

I had an Orchi done about a year and a half before the SRS, and it was nothing. Now, all I had to worry about was taking Estrogen. Oh, I know that some others were taking Progestrins and other things, but my Doctor was adamant that those other drugs just do too much harm to your body.

Much to my surprise, however the Orchi really did not seem to change me much. For some reason, be it psychological or something else, the SRS had a profoundly shocking effect on me. After the SRS, I was WOMAN!

The next big jolt came when my Doc changed me from the little pills, to the patches. OMG ! GASP! For some reason, my body just loves the patches. My breast size doubled in about 2 months. A couple people even thought SRS included some sort of brain sugery, erm surgery!

Of course, I never did like "Stupid old pickup trucks", football games, and killing bambi. All that is far too undignified for me and besides it is hard to fix your nails afterward. :)

For several years, having decided that I definitely did not need any more children (see my blog about the divorce) I reckoned that an Orchi would be better than a vasectomy. Whether I can convince a doctor to do itt on the basis of an alternative contraception remains to be seen. Of course I do have another motive.

So Jen, do what you think is right but do seek a second opinion for peace of mind.

I haven't had an orchi, but

I haven't had an orchi, but I had undiagnosed sleep apnea for a number of years before getting treated. That meant no nocturnal erections and no sex drive to speak of for the last year or so before I got treated. I lost at least an inch and a half, possibly two inches of length.

It took a lot of years to get some of it back (and now I have low T, so it takes effort to maintain the length I've got).

So yeah, you are likely to lose some size.

Based on my experience and what I've heard from others, you may be able to maintain size if you can induce regular erections. :-(

Hi Jen

Hi Jen,

I didn't have an Orchi, but I had been on hormones for 9 years
before my SRS (Feb 2, 2007 Dr. Bowers). My penis was not very long so I ended up with about 5 inchs of depth. It dosen't matter as I am a lesbian and do not desire intercourse.
So have yoy decided who you want for a surgeon? My experience with Marci Bowers was exceptional!! I was lucky that my heath insurance from work (IBM) paid for my SRS!!

I just got through reading "The Assignment" and was wondering when there might be additional chapters?

Hugs,
Pamela

Hi Pam,

My muse has taken a bit of a vacation . I guess life gets in the way and my mind is concentrating on other things. I have started school to become an Esthetician and the subject matter is pretty heavy on the medical side with Anatomy and Physiology and Chemistry. I come home some days feeling like my brain has been fried. Hopefully, with Fall Break coming in two weeks, it will allow me time to clear my head and write some new chapters. Thanks for all your comments.

Hugs,

Jen
