Universal Brain Neuron Network

I know that this is way off topic, but I beg you to indulge me for a few moments. For those who really know me, one of my obsessions is to try to figure out the real nature of what I believe to be the intelligence who created all this. I must shamefully admit that at times everything seems incredibly chaotic and mostly evil. But in my quiet moments I know that perhaps I am just not sophisticated to understand everything.

I have two links at the end of which are two photos. I hope that you will be as shocked and thrilled when you see them. One is a model of the Neuron Network in our own Brains. The other is a map of the Dark Matter in the universe. This is not about religion but it does not exclude it. To me it is more about Physics, and the science around the nature of things. Enjoy.

On the Dark Matter link, the pic I am thinking of is the entry done by Clifford.

May your hearts leap for joy when you see these together like mine did.

Gi-normous brain!

I was confused by the 500 Mpc/h scale on what I had presumed was the brain neural network.

When I Googled that, it turned out to be a dimension of about 500 x 1 million x 19 trillion miles! As brains go, it's obviously slightly larger than the capabilities of my own!

Or is there a more rational explanation?

Dear Gwen

You must have your sites mixed up.

The first site is a visualized model (calculated) of dark matter in the universe. This explains the 500 Mpc/h (I don't know what this stand for) scale, which is about 1.6 billion light years, per Lindale's numbers.

see: http://www.nowpublic.com/tech-biz/dark-matter-distribution-v... for the same picture.

Your 2nd site, asymptotia... is a 3d representation of dark matter in part of the universe, a patch of sky the size of 8 full moons, based on telescope data analyzed to find masses revealed by their gravitational lensing.

If you also have a site showing a model of the neuron network in our brains, I would not be surprised to find many similarities in the pictures.

They are exactly alike

I will try to get this fixed tonight. I am having friends over for dinner, and had to find a suitable mini dress for it. Gad, what's become of me? Snark Snark.

Here's a pretty one...

The green layer looks quite similar.

Oooh! Here's another.

Reminded me of this one, which is a Dark Matter visualisation:

Discouraged

Well, I am sure that what I looked at before showed the two looking nearly alike. They were rendered in slightly different colors however. Using the same search terms I did before, I get different results now. Should have been more careful.

No one is going to believe me now.

Well, I do...

Looking at pictures of intergalactic structures and brain structures side-by-side one can see similarities almost at once, and the same general thought has occurred to others. Here's one:

Granted, these guys are a little bit on the fringes, but Plate Tectonics was wacko pseudoscience not too long ago. I can remember when "respectable" scientists wouldn't touch the notion with a ten-foot pole, yet within my lifetime positions have been reversed.

Here's a blog that explores the same idea:

Read down and you can see a computer simulation of the universe compared with a single brain cell. The blog is worth exploring, as there are some fascinating pictures and speculations there.

I remember reading a book in High School. The Black Cloud by Fred Hoyle. At the time I thought it was a decent look into the possibilities of life and indirectly God beyond the basic scriptures. I never quite understand why something like evolution is dismissed as anti God, when it seems it fits with the self determination idea. God never was benevolent I think if you take the bearded old man idea that is. There is more than us we would all agree I think, but exactly what is in question.

Er...back on topic, if you look into things like fractals its shows very clearly how the basic 'design' of all things is pretty similar. Geometry and maths and physics and philosophy all intersect there somewhere. Not sure 'we' are smart enough to puzzle it out, but who knows.
