If I saw this mesage in my INBOX I wouldn't click on the link.

Chould you give me a reason to do it here ?

Because Dorothy doesn't spread viruses or malware, only germs

laika's picture

And you know what kind of germs!!!

(I probably wouldn't click it either
if it was someone I didn't know,
but Dorothy's been around this
site a while + got rid of that whole Evil Twin
problem when the volcano took out Evil
Dorothy's secret mountain base;
So I clicked it + it's safe...
But then I could be
in on it...)

Been there.

Pretty good little short film.
It's never easy.

Synopsis

Andrea Lena's picture

"Ryan works in the family-run auto shop, following in the tradition of becoming a mechanic just like Dad. Ryan is talented at the craft of auto repair, with an ease and fluency with the ins and outs of engines. But only when she’s not at work can Ryan tap into a whole other side of her identity, a femininity that feels just as essential to her self as her work.

But the careful architecture of Ryan’s life comes crashing down during one night out, and the partitions between Ryan’s different lives are breached. The balance skews Ryan’s life, challenging her sense of safety and perhaps changing her relationship in the family and the business."

All one's life they have been ingrained to flee when confronted. It's a hundred times harder to face the situation when it reappears. Even worse when dealing with homophobia characters. She fled and what does a bank robber do when confronted? They flee. She gave all the signals she was guilty of whatever crossed the guy's mind. Ladies, gentlemen, I know it is hard to break a lifetime of conditioning. If one's life isn't in danger stand your ground. Do NOT accept the other person's guilt laden trip you're wrong. Unless you are with those who are experienced handling bigots, it's a learning curve on what body signals one sends and what one says in response to hateful or derogatory comments.

The short clip was a text book case of what everyone one shouldn't do. If one's life is in danger, retreat. If not stand your ground. You have as much right, more so, to your life than any bigots you are facing. If I can, anyone can, and I have. Just don't be stupid, gauge the other person's body language and their eyes. Lot better signal than what is coming out of their mouth.
Courage, boys and girls, stay safe above all. Travel in pairs or more.

I don't know

If I like this or not.

It's an interesting look into a very brief moment in a life. But it's left feeling so unfinished. There's hope at the end with the final line "See you tomorrow" but it's so uncertain.
