Hello my lovelies:

Perhaps a year ago, an Author published a story here that involved a wife loving her husband so much that she started him along the road to transition, apparently even when he was unaware of his need to do it. In the progress of the story, she eventually has him living as a woman, and then finds him an apartment and later divorced him.

At that point, I do not know what happened, because there were some similarities to my own situation and it was just too painful to confront those issues at the time. I do remember having the sense that she was doing this out of love for him. Still, after writing the Author a note, saying that it was a good story but too painful for me at that time, I stopped following it.

I can no longer find said story, and was hoping that one of you would perhaps remember it and the details.

Many Blessings

Gwendolyn

I'm thinking

"The Black Dog" and its sequels, by Kristina L.S.

It could be a blend of BD and People are Complicated, but it doesn't sound quite right. Could also be a VT story as suggested, but I don't think they're here, there's a couple of possibles at FM. Can't think of any better options sorry

Misplaced story

Except for the time frame, I would think it could be "Wrestling With Discontent," by Angela Rasch, one of her best stories, in my opinion.

. . .but Wrestling wasn't really my story, it was a rewrite of another author's story. “The Wrestling Contest” was posted on Storysite by Suejrz. She did a great job writing it. When I posted a comment, I suggested another way it could have been written. She graciously allowed me to tell the story from another point of view.

Coincidentally, Randalynn saw the same story by Suejrz on FM renamed "The Contest" and rewrote it as "Game Over".

Probably too new, but

Could it have been Kelly Ann Roger's "Unfinished Symphony"?
I know it had a lot of people, me included, upset at the lack of forced fem label, but she does have a way of crafting words into a very readable story. Not sure if helps, but your description evoked the same respone as the one I had to that story and I never was able to finish it either, nor can I to this day. It does say something about an author who can evoke such emotion in readers.

Who Wrote? Perhaps the answer is Karen Elizabeth L

I too remembered this story and couldn't remember either the author nor character's name but I did remember it being on Fictionmania ( I only wish their search engine was as good as Story Site)

Well I came to this remembered description."After watching a talk show with T people on it, Carol and Tim get into an argument over who has it easier, men or women. Carol offers up a bet to prove her point, Tim would live as women for a year. In the end, find out how this loving couple is married again as husband and wife." the title of the story is "Christy" and the link is http://www.fmstories.com/stories/bet/christy.txt there are a few others out there also that do not start as a bet and I believe this is the only that has a double sex change and remarriage.

Question for Gwen

The closest so far would be the story about Andy (A Place of her Own) mentioned above. But I have another possibility if I can find it. This is where the question comes in.......You can't remember many details, but I recall a story where the guy starts to transition and she makes him move into a small house next door to theirs, if i recall correctly, and he learns how to be a woman while living on his own, with her close to oversee it. Does this part sound familiar. I just need to look for it now that I can remember this much.
