I want to know how we handle updating a story here. I know theres an edit function and I can do it that way. But If I do then its been all weekend, hardly anyone will see it then. Is it allowed to make a new post when I do it. I realized that I made some major mistakes in the first posting. Some major palm faces that will require some major rewriting.

Cha cha cha changes...

On my stories I sometimes see a notice that my story was updated! and I hadn't done anything. Makes me wonder.

When I do an update, ranging from spelling corrections, adding a sentence or two, or moving a line from end of a paragraph to the beginning I THINK a blurb automatically appears in the "Recent Comments" area of the opening page to BC....

Maybe the suggestions below will help to make your story changes known (hopefully others will jump in with 'official' response)

1 - add a comment/reply/explanation to the story you just corrected
2 - create a post saying "I just made a substantial change to my story (insert story name) and I invite you to read the changes." - or something like that.
3 - if you have a few solid comments from readers reply direct to those enthusiasts directly.

I look forward to the REAL way to do what you want.

Regards,

Donna

Major changes

If you do major changes to a story or series, you can ask me to re-date it so it appears on the front page again. I won't always do this, if we've had 15 stories that day, we don't need another new one.

Hugs,
Erin

Thank you

I think im going to write it and just update it within or over the existing story file. Then write the second chapter and post it, with a message that the first chapter has been greatly expanded
That should work and give you less headache.
