the reception to my last two posts is disappointed. And while I did get a nice personal message that the second chapter of Revenge hooked them and they enjoyed it. That helped inspire me further on that
I hoped someone would tell me what they thought about the Star. I do know that may be of the most brutal stories

I did voice some concerns earlier that this may not be the place for my style of stories.
I know FM has these types. Like Cheryl Lynn and Thorn and a few others. But I am no where as skilled as they are. My stories are still filled with errors that I struggle to find
im getting better at finding them but im still very inexperienced.

Many people on this channel I love deeply

Several of them I won't read their stories although I have tried. I have way too much sharing with others what is life's hell can dump on them to be reading dark stories or never ending sexual content. I've cried myself to sleep over too many who couldn't handle life and made that terminal decision. One very intelligent lady commented on my humor. It is the only way I can keep going. A month back I was retrieving lunch meat out of the fridge, with both hands full. The package flipped over, bumped the glass of milk and it spilled down the shelves, onto the floor. "CRAP!" Was my total answer before I started laughing. Things needed wiping down and floor cleaned up anyway. The wet and dry vac was brought into action along with the garden sprayer filled with hot soapy water.
Two weeks ago I set a container of old cooking oil on the edge of the kitchen sink, made a mental note to not bump it before I carried it outside and emptied it. Window is up, plant in the window, gust of wind, and that container emptied all the way down the front of the cabinet, onto the floor, and my boots. "CRAP!" Murphy was still on the job in my life. I began laughing. Well my boots needed a good oiling and I hadn't done it in awhile. Wet and dry vac, garden sprayer again and my boots had received the oiling they needed. I own three tractors, one is down. five small mowers, one eighteen foot mower, they are all down at the moment. Two years ago because of the total lack of rain I had total crop failure. Lots of money put out to get the land ready, fuel, wear and tear on equipment, everything in the ground, zero return. This year everything looked better than good. Trump and his trade wars was devastating the market prices. Turned everything into hay instead of harvesting. So did every farmer, rancher from border to border. Haven't sold a single bale and am wondering how to turn hay into a stew or some other kind of dish. This farm needs two working to keep everything up. There is only me now and I'm losing ground every single day. I'll be late for my own funeral by about a month while I try and finish up before they plant me. Gov still wants their taxes on equipment and land no matter what. When I make a little profit they want their taxes on that too. Sorry guys, the last three years there hasn't been a profit, only loses. Anybody want to try framing?

Do you want to trade places? It's a deal even though I have no idea what you do. You will need to develop the hide of a rhino, humor so thick people think you've stepped off the deep end, and at night come in so exhausted you don't care to eat, contemplate whether you want the bed or bath first. You opt for the bath because you're carrying half the farm on you. You still want to know why you don't get more readers, more reviews? Trust me, I'm not the only one on this channel dealing with hard times and do not read dark stories.

Dark stories appeal to a few select class of readers. If that is what one writes they need to understand why their readership is in the lower numbers.

I wish you well and happiness in what you do but are you sure you aren't building your own black box from the content of the stories you write?

What I look for in a story here

WillowD's picture

What I look for most in a gendered story is a public / high / college school aged male to female main character and a happy ending and not too much brutality, sadism, etc. in the middle. I do deviate from that, for instance I absolutely adore Snowfall's The Lyssa Kordenay Missions. There are a lot of really awesome stories and novels of that type here and I am not even close to reading half of them yet. (Of the ones I am aware of.)

When I first started reading gendered stories I wound up reading a lot of forced feminization stories. In many them the probably female author was doing her best to humiliate and degrade her male main character. I kept reading them for a long time because sometimes I would find a story I really liked. But they aren't what I look for.

But that's just me and what I am looking for. Every reader has their own tastes and interests. Odds are that there are some readers here that would enjoy the type of stories you write. So if you are enjoying writing them then why not continue to do so. And remember, you can publish them on more than one site.

Good luck. I hope you continue to have fun writing.

Don't be fooled

There are plenty of readers here who read dark stories. Just don't expect many comments or kudos. Certainly you will get more reads on FM but you will get a good number here too.

The Star POV

You know by now that I can be a bit.. open, honest & sometimes strategically opinionated.
When something well... gets to me I try to take my time before commenting, so that I neither say anything unintentionally hurtful etc
You have officially asked for this help however.
So I will be honest

You know I think your a fabulous writer & continue to try to inspire you with the upmost honesty, so please take that into consideration prior and ongoing as I give you as you desire

I did read THE STAR

I read it earlier this morning, like 1AM-EST or so.

I found it very well written.

You are getting much, much better at extending details, instead of flying through scenes, giving a much bigger picture of what you are trying to convey as a well balanced writer.

I do enjoy your writing, however not every story is going to have the same effect as the last or even the next on the same fan-base.

My personal pinion on this piece, falls unfortunitelly within the confines of what well we have spoken privatelly about before, aka C-PTSD Triggers, so maybe it was just when I originally read it & just need to cool down to give it another shot, when I am not already worked up.

This story.... is incredibly close to my own real life situation/s that I lived, not as an adult... but as a child from the first grade onward.

So it did strike up flashbacks.

I do not mean to say I give this story bad reccomendation, anything but.

It is an excellent masterpiece, but to a personal degree I did find myself to emotional to be able to rationally be objective about it.

Please continue it, for yourself... for others

One individual does not equate to everyone else

We have had many conversations & I hope we shall have many more.

I have made it clear that I am hooked to 'the cheating husband', 'the other woman' & 'Revenge'.

Ironically in their own way they all have certain and or many themes that are connected, same things in 'The Star', for me personally....

It was the forced Porn star, prostitute, sex slave with brutal violence that got me unhinged... like I said it is not your fault & there will be many like us that will get drawn in regardless....

Your story deffinitelly belongs here, even though yes... FM is more populated when it comes to these themese... which I also read nightly... 1 of which currently ongoing has very similar themes, but not much well not entirelly on the forced aspect... its bloody complicated.

I, ALWAYS give a story a chance as long as it appears within my preferences & there is actually very few objective things I rule out in my preferences.

I have even given those themes not in my favor, a chance at times if asked, by someone I am close to or whatever that want/need my opinion and or are excited by my friendly reaction, I understand that... in much degree I am/was the same way, only I hated when anyone I knew IRL well came upon my stories, worked it out and told me they read it & their opinions, as I am always waiting for the next belt to slap me around unfortunitelly.... my optimism in general has more or less faded & I have become more of a pessimist, lot of that is age.... but I dunno.

There will be stories by 1 author I like and with the same author I dislike.... even if it is within the same 'world' or spinoff etc.

No different in Reading JK Rowling, prefering the potter books and being uninterested in a submission or so... myself I am more movies with her but whatever.... you can like the philosophers stone & dislike the third installment, or her adult story outside of that world even.... yes she has a snuff novel.

I love lots of writing, yours especially as of late has my interest greatly

I would be a hypocrite, telling you to not to take what anyone says to heart, do not let it hold you down and snuff you out... doing so is how writers clam up and the muse dies & like myself you can have alot of ideas, but no longer have the same drive or muse even left to put it together more then just in your head.... believe me I have at least 8 original stories running through my head atm & just no drive to put them forth atm, even though it naws at me something aweful.

You are going to encounter fan's, devoute fans that may have very objective ideas about what you write, it happens.

Your story belongs here

You have far as I see it, put all the neccesary themes (warnings) clicked in place, you have given an excellent summery that insinuates exactly what the story is.... the rest is up to the reader on this.

Think about it like this... back when 'the exorcist' came out & was being premiered/promoted, warning the potential viewers of what to expect.... dispite all the warnings they went to it anyways, many left mid film, even tried sueing those involved because how bad it upset them.... far as I see it you cannot buy & willingly bite into the pickle, then get upset at the farmer because it was a dill pickle, even though it literally claimed that very thing on the jar lol ya messed up analogy, but whatever, I think it works and conveys adequatelly.

Just keep doing it, let your imagination flow.

Writers are as much an artist as any other artist.

Some of the best pieces of art, is nothing more then a mess made out of rage when a painter got upset and threw a bucket of paint at an incorrectly painted painting... or a chef that accidentelly came up with black (gun) powder.

If what you are writing is what is coming forth from you, that is your masterpiece, your painting, your cuisine, whatever... it was made by you... it was created by you, you are part of what you write as what you write is a part of you.

You story does NOT involve pedophilia... so far as I am concerned 'The Star' is properly at home here luv.
