A couple days ago, when news of the California Supreme Court ruling overturning the ban on same-sex marriage was announced, my partner asked me to marry her...
and I said yes! All the specific details are kinda up in the air right now, except that we're planning on getting married a month from now. Most of the people I consider friends and family check for posts here pretty regularly, which is why I decided to make this announcement here. =D

Well, this is a fine welcome home.
I mean really, I get home from work and check my email, nothing to get excited about. Then I log into BCTS and what do I discover that my little sister is getting married. I’m shocked, I mean how can that be; how can something like this happen? It’s true that they changed the laws in California so you can marry your bestest and most trusted friend. But when did they change the law that would allow someone of your tender years to get married? Humm, answer that one. You can’t can you. Well let me tell you . . .

Thank you so much, everyone! I wish I could have every one of you at the wedding. I'm not really sure how many we'll have at the wedding, but it'll probably be kinda small. We're also thinking of having a "circle of family and friends" wedding, where everyone who's at the wedding is a part of the wedding, rather than having brides maids, best men, and all the other roles usually included. Most everything is up in the air, including where the wedding and reception will be held.

I hope it all works out and the people of CA figure out that happiness for a few translates into happiness for all. I get so sick of all of the "sancitity of marriage" arguments. Why can't they just leave everyone to live the lives that work for them when it doesn't hurt the biggots in any way.
