Dwarves and Elves and Transgendered Humans
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Fri, 2011/04/15 - 11:48pmI just had a bit of a scene pop up in my head where someone was explaining how humans are the results of crossbreeding between elves and dwarves, and what we usually consider masculine or feminine are actually expressions of our dwarven and elfin natures. I really like the idea and it feels like an important part in the middle of a story, but I'm at a loss as to what the beginning or end might be. Any suggestions?
Drabble, drabble, toil and trabble...
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Tue, 2011/04/05 - 11:50amIn case you're wondering, this is a post about drabbles, not magic. ^.~ After posting my last drabble, I had looked through my stories and realized there were enough 100-word stories to make a collection. So, to make it easier for anyone who likes one of my drabbles to find the others (and to appease my obsessive need to organize things >.< ), I've created a new heading called Heather Rose's Drabbles, and placed the following stories under that heading:
Backburner Stories accidently deleted
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sun, 2011/03/27 - 4:36pmI'd recently been trying to create a new blog while looking at an old blog, and I'd accidently deleted the old blog. I really liked the old blog and the responses I'd gotten to it, so I decided to create a new blog entry with the contents of the old blog. Wish me luck!
Looking for story advice
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Fri, 2010/09/17 - 11:05pmHi everyone! I'm working on a story called Square Dance Stand In, but there's a couple of snags I've run into.
Tired...
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sat, 2010/04/10 - 2:52amI am so tired, but I can't sleep. I feel like there's a weight on top of me. Every breath I take seems to be harder to draw in. The weight on my chest seems to just get heavier. Part of me just wants to give up and not struggle any more. But ... I can't give up hope. Not yet.
Eve's Apple
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Tue, 2009/06/30 - 7:09amJust wanted to let everyone know the little button on the left side of the main screen that says, "Eve's Apple" will lead you to a sexy transgenerific lesbian romance comedy ... with crossdressing zombies!
Looking for story writing advice

New story art from Heather Rose Brown
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sat, 2008/07/19 - 2:10pmBelow are images I created for a few of my stories that will eventually be posted on a new story site I found called Codey's World, which is an online fiction site focused on teens and young adults, although folks of all ages are welcome. Below each image is a synopsis of the story, and you can go to the story here on Big Closet by clicking on the image. :)
A story about stories
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Mon, 2008/07/07 - 6:47amThis morning I woke with a story rolling around in my head that wouldn't let me go back to sleep until I wrote it down. I eventually posted it on the Fictioneer site under the name The Story. I know that may sound like a bit of a lame story title, but it kinda fit with the theme, and it was the best I could think of at what-am-I-doing-up-this-early am. It's basically a story about stories, and how they relate to reality.
Wedding Day
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sat, 2008/06/21 - 10:56amI can hardly believe it. In just a few hours, I'm going to be getting married!
Madam Martinique and Aunt Jane
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Wed, 2008/06/04 - 7:36amWhen stanman63 mentioned in a comment on the latest chapter of my story, Madam Martinique's Finishing School, how it reminded him of a combination of Aunt Jane's Season's House (the original story appears to have written by Joel Lawrence) and Karen Page's SPA series (aka A New Style of Education, it got me curious.
I'm getting married!
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sun, 2008/05/18 - 9:27amA couple days ago, when news of the California Supreme Court ruling overturning the ban on same-sex marriage was announced, my partner asked me to marry her...
I'm back!
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Tue, 2008/04/15 - 6:41amHiya everyone! I just wanted to let ya's know my computer died a while ago, and I just recently got a replacement and have been able to get back online. It feels so nice to be back again. :)
Jane & Dick
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sat, 2008/02/23 - 4:11pmYou've heard of the Dick and Jane stories, right? Well, Jane and Dick are pretty much the same ... but different too. ;)
Why I write short stories
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sat, 2008/02/16 - 1:27amA while ago I heard a story that inspired me to write the way I do. I don't remember it word for word, but it went something like this:
A silly little video
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Mon, 2008/02/04 - 8:18amHiya everyone! Below is a link to a rather silly video I did over the weekend. It's just me and my friend Beatrice, who may or may not have the start of a budding singing career. ^.~

A bittersweet dream
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Mon, 2007/12/03 - 5:24amIt's almost 4am on Monday December 3rd, 2007. I just woke of from a strange, bittersweet dream.
2 a.m.
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Thu, 2007/11/22 - 3:24amIt's 2 a.m. and I still can't sleep. Someone I care about is very ill and may be dying and I don't know what to do. Some may say that she's just a cat. To me she's more than that. I love her and can't stand the thought of losing her.
My Non-TG Stories
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Mon, 2007/11/12 - 4:10pmYes, it's true! I really have written a number of stories without (as far as I can tell) any transgender elements. So far, I've only posted a couple of them online. One of them is called A Tree's Story. The actual title is 'In the Beginning - A Tree's Story', but the site where I posted it (deviantART) won't let post titles that long. I also created an audio book version of this story at a website called Internet Archive and the cover art for this story, as seen below.
A Silly Little Ditty
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Thu, 2007/10/18 - 8:31pmRecently, I've been reading lots of Maddy Bell's Gaby series. Having been born and raised in the US, there were a few words that kinda went over my head. This blog entry is about a neat resource I found and a silly ditty I made up using a couple of my newfound words. ^.~
Sex,TG Fiction, and Reader Interest
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sat, 2007/10/06 - 8:47pmPretty much since I started writing TG fiction, one thing I've tried to avoid is including anything sexual. This was for a number of reasons. For one thing, there seemed to be a lot of such stories already out there. Another reason was ... well, I just wasn't interested in writing them. Lately, I've been thinking of trying to do something that had a bit more ... I guess intimacy.
Discipline, Respect, Honesty, and Madam Martinique's Plaque
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sun, 2007/09/02 - 9:48am![]() |
This is the plaque mentioned in my story, Madam Martinique's Finishing School. When I had started writing the story, I had the idea of there being three principles upon which the school was founded, but I did put a bit of thought into what those principles would be. Below are some of the thoughts behind them, which may wind up being woven into future chapters ... if I ever manage to pull enough of a story together to make decent chapters. |
Working on an audio-book version of Shoes
Submitted by Heather Rose Brown on Sat, 2007/08/04 - 1:40amHiya everyone! I've been trying to create an audio-book version of my story, Shoes. I've been using a program called Record Producer by Voyetra. I've got the whole story recorded in .rpp format, but for some reason, the program won't save it as a .wav or any other format most people can use. Is there anyone out there who knows how to turn convert my recording into something a bit more useful?

FPI -- Frilly Pantied Investigator

Recently, my unpredictable muse presented me with an interesting concept for an action/adventure type story. I came up with a really neat title image, got a first scene, then ... nothing. Well, not actually nothing. I do have a feel for where the story might go and a vague idea of whodunnit, but no real story. I'm hoping someone else might see what I have so far and maybe have some suggestions on how to get from here to the end of the story. Here's to hoping!
