Smart, really really smart. Tossing a real gotchu out there for the lead to the next story. That particular blurb on the back cover of the book would be one of the best "teasers" I have read in a long long time. I'm hard pressed to remember anyone I've ever read that was any better. What kind of demographic readers would that one NOT pull in to open the book and start scanning in interest? Probably better than twenty percent of those who picked up the novel would buy the book. An unbelievable high percentage among book shoppers.
IF..., your story is as good as the teaser, On a low estimate I could see a million novels sold the first year. My market target would be all the truck stops All over the world. Meeting market expectations, by the end of the year the novel would have legs of its own and probably tally out at ten million copies before market saturation.

I wish I still knew those in the business. You need an agent and a publishing company behind you with all the right connections in the market. If you aren't savvy already, tread carefully. There are more thieves and crooks in the publishing business than there is in the lawyer field.

Erin, what about you and the other ladies acting as agents for some of the writers? Surely you have more intel in the current markets than I could ever hope to return to. Many of these writers deserve a little return on their exceptional skills. And we know the establishment already has their favorite pick of the litter authors who they anoint as the next NYT Best Selling Author.

People, I've said this before. It takes more than writing an exceptional story. It takes market penetration after the story is written. Which most authors haven't a clue. Brilliant story tellers are some of the worst business people I have ever met in my life.
